I would think that those who go to meetings regularly, and / or go out in service, routinely read the magazines and books, and / or profess to believe most of the doctines could be lumped into a general JW standing.
Of course there are those, some of them here, who go to meetings, but know it isn't the truth. So there are exceptions.
my wife and i disassociated 3 months ago and my wifes mother is still a jw....but.....she still sees us regularly.
today, a 'clipboard' elder went down to see her.
he has been her book study overseer for a year and has never once gone to see her even though her husband is dying.
I hope people in the congregations start thinking for themselves. There is too much heartbreak, too much destruction of friends and families. This is a cult, pure and simple.

my mother, when leaving the org.
back in the early 90's began researching the bible (not the nwt because it was too flawed), she used the kjv and the niv, she also used strongs and a bible that had both greek and hebrew in it right along side the english.
I don't believe for a second that the bible fortold of the twin towers collapsing.
ok my landlords daughter and her husband max live above us.
they are a really great family, very nice and cool.
anyway once in a while we have a good conversation with each other and a while ago i had told max about my family situation and a little counter-witnessing.
I have a particular friend, who actually knows some of the witness teachings, and last time witnesses came to his house, he gave them an earfull.
And this is from someone not even a witness! He said they just stood there with a blank look on their face.

on the 20th of march, introduces a change in the df and da announcements.
announcements will read the same: "[name of person] is no longer one of jehovah's .
The new wording is potentially scary for those in the congregation.
When they hear "so -n- so is no longer a witness" imagine the ideas that will be going through their heads. They will think the worst, and I think this could cause even more shunning.
but you have to admit that some are nice caring people.
my wife missed the meeting to night due to flu and a sister who has far more health problems than us phoned to ask after her.
she even asked after me, brother 'long time no see'!
No question about it! Yes, some witnesses are actually nice caring people!
But, you will find that in all walks of life. The sad thing is that they belong to a hateful religion, but probably don't even know it.

Yes, the odds would seem to be good. However, I have not had a witness knock on my door in years and years.

2)appreciation for jesus ransom sacrifice?.
My motivation for being a witness was simple. I was a child, I lived at home, and wanted to continue having a roof over my head. As long as I lived there, I sure as hell better be a witness.
Left home, and by 25 I was out.
Fortunately, though I never did return home to live, both of my parents left the organization as well.
i recently filed for divorce.
i don't want to take my children (15 and 13) away from their jw mom, but i wanted to make sure that i had final say in medical matters.
my attorney said that in south carolina, legislation was passed that pretty much mandated that doctors provide minor children with life-saving care over any religious objections by parents or hospital committees.
Regardless of what the state law says, I would be concerned over who is going to have final say over medical care between you and your ex.
In California, the say in medical care is given to the person who has physical custody. There might be joint custody, but whoever is listed as physical custody will have the final say. You may want to do what you have to do in order to have a say in this matter. Very important, indeed.

I don't think so, as I don't allow it to control my life. Do I wish some things were different growing up? Yes, for sure. But what happened, happened, and now I concentrate on being the best person I can be.
