Study, study, and study some more so you can make the best arguement against the WTS with these elders. Hopefully it comes off as sincere, and maybe will help these guys think.
Too bad people had to act snobbish to you. But then again, it was they that had to go back in and sit through a dreary 2 hours of crap.

Were you told you had to tolerate things as a test?
by LongHairGal in(i made a thread like this but it seemed to have gotten lost).
i got in some heated discussions years ago over what i would and would not tolerate from people with regard to abuse on a personal level.
we were always fed the line that we should forgive our brother, etc.

Being told to tolerate others was a way to justify bad behavior by those in "God's organization."

Pyramid Schemes - Melaleuca - MLM
by NOdenial inok... this topic will probably get some people quite upset - but i am going to say it anyways.
the topic of 'con artist types' in the borg reminded me of this issue.. where i come from in western canada and usa, there is a huge issue of dubs getting involved in melaleuca.
there is one brother in the interior of british columbia that is making much more money in a month than most people make in a year.

Will & JH,
As I have mentioned before, I have owned several successful businesses, and I know what it takes to make it.
In addition, I know some very high ranking people in a couple of MLMs, and I clearly know where money is made, and what it takes to make it in that business as well, as I have seen first hand.
As I have studied these MLM's, yes, there is one common complaint. They make money off of the training materials. As a businessman, I must ask, "So What??"
Why is it so wrong to design a business to make money? From what I have seen, many people have access to making money on those items, so you don't have to be all the way to the top in order to make it.
How many people here enjoy Anthony Robbins?? I bet quite a few who have heard him, do enjoy him. News flash! He makes money on his tapes, and his speaking engagements. Why is that not wrong? I think he is great. But, most people can never duplicate what he has done. But he makes millions from his postive mental attitude books, tapes, and seminars.
Those big guys in the MLM's have done it, and they can show others how to do it. So why should they not get paid for their own speaking engagements, or maybe a tape?
Many of those who complain about these types of businesses just don't understand business. That is all it is. Business. If the guy on the bottom wants to make money, all he has to do is what they guy on the top did. And the guy on the top is there to help him. After all, the more the little guy makes, the more the big guy makes. Win/ win. Never worked that way when I worked for other people. And my employees will never make as much as I do. Is that wrong? The fact is, that the second anyone stops making money for the owner of a company, guess what? You are gone! Fired!
That being said, I do believe it is wrong to deceive someone into thinking that no one makes any money on the training materials. The people that I know clearly state up front that some money is made from those items.
One more thing to think about. One popular complaint is that supposedly it takes about 50 cents to make a tape and duplicate it. They complain that the big guy does this, and then sells it for 7 bucks. Oh my God, look at the big mark up. Well, first of all, the difference is usually split between quite a few people, so it is not like one guy only makes that amount. Second, who cares? Third, how about complaining to the music industry for selling that same tape or c/d for $17.99. After all, it only costs 50 cents to make.
Again, business. That is all it is. If people cannot understand that, then fine, go get a job. Just make sure your boss doesn't make any money off of you.

Boy Do I Want one of them Buicks
by prophecor injust got a brochure from circuit leasing.
they're selling the brother's used buicks.
they'll even let you bid on a specific brother's vehicle, if you wish.

Just to clarify, in order for these guys to be an actual dealership, they must have a place that they can sell these cars. I seriously doubt that this outfit is a new car dealership.
Chances are, that these Buicks are bought new at a franchise dealer, and probably bought at fleet prices. No big deal, companies do that all the time.
When these Buicks are then ready to sell, it can be done out of an office, as long as there are several parking spots out front and zoned properly for car sales. My guess is there are enough witnesses to buy these that they don't have to advertise, etc. They get their order, paperwork is fed ex'd, and car is shipped. My guess is most who buy these cars never saw the car before they signed for it. They just get all giddy knowing they bought a CO's car.
The guidelines to own a franchise dealership are very specific, and not nearly as easy as people might like to think. Many, many rules and regulations.

I fault any company that makes false claims, and / or is truely illegal.
That being said, there are some MLM type companies out there that do work, if the person involved actually does it. The problem with many of these companies is that with its low cost investment/ start, it attracts a lot of "job" mentality people, who do not know what it takes to run a business.
I have owned several businesses, and it is indeed hard work, regardless of the type of business. In order to make anything work, you must work at it. If I treated my business as serious as most MLM people work their company, I would go out of business.
Also, for those who hate "pyramid" type schemes, look at your own job. Depending on the amount of people that work there, you will have the lowest paid warehouse people, then work on up into sales, and then middle management, upper management, so on until the owner. Guess what? That is a pyramid people! What chance does the guy on the bottom, the warehouse guy, have on taking the owners spot? Or even upper or middle management? Come on, we all live in a pyramid type world when it comes to jobs. So why be so critical of a business where everyone has a chance, though it might be small?
My hat is off to anyone who tries something different to get ahead in life, regardless of company, or how they do it, as long as it is legal.

I contacted them a couple of years ago, and asked about their connection with the WTS, and they got very nasty, to the point of not answering my e-mails anymore. I was not rude, just simply asked. For all they knew, I could have been studying with the witnesses, or been a witness, and that was not called for.
They always talk about how friendly witnesses are, and by your actions, the world should be able to pick you out.
Well, not with this outfit.
