Earthwuake strikes southern California
by Netty ini just saw this on the news this morning.
a 5.6 magnitude earthquake struck southern cal.
i know there are posters on this board from southern cal, wondering if anyone felt it?

These smaller earthquakes really don't bother me too much.
However, when I grew up, it was in the Bay Area as I mentioned above, and the media and schools always talked about the "big one!" Sometimes, a smaller quake like this would set off the big earthquake, and that is what was so scary. Never knew if that would set up the one that would kill all of us. Then again, was it the beginning of armageddon?

Cook at home or eat out?

My wife is a fantastic cook, so I don't have to worry about meals anymore, though I usually eat out at lunch every day.
Before I got married, I went 5 years of not fixing one meal at home.

I live in north San Diego, and I felt it this morning. By the time it got here, it was no where near 5.6 but heard it, and felt it anyways.
Nothing quite like when I lived in the Bay Area. There were quite a few large ones while I was growing up.

During the entire segment, big bold letters stating JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES. However, right next to it was a big cross!!!

I remember our providing overseer somehow going through my record collection as a teenager.
My mom went through all my records and scratched out all the "bad" songs with a needle. Then you couldn't play them. But of course she would mess up, and put a scratch on an approved song, but then it would be ruined.
I was not allowed to get Fleetwood Mac due to their drug problems. Billy Joel was rebelious. "The Pirate Movie" soundtrack had a lot of songs sung by or about pirates. I had to break my Styx album that had supposed backward masking.

I am not sick of religion. To each their own.
What I don't like is a religion that promotes violence like in the middle east, and I don't like a religion that promotes the destruction of friends and family like the WTS.
Other than that, let everyone worship as they see fit, as long as it doesn't hurt others.

Stickers on magazines
by Apostanator inwhenever i would see a watchtower or awake at the laundromat, i used to just rip them up and throw them away.
but now i carry labels on me that have been printed off my computer and stick them on the mags.
i have several types that are printed with such sayings as ( " this is a cult " included with freeminds website ) and ( "jehovah's witnesses cover-up child rape and abuse " included with silent lambs website ) i feel this is more successful as the magazine cannot be picked up without having the sticker in your face.

I like the sticker idea. I saw some magazines at the doctors office the other day.
Something like that has got to be more productive than throwing the magazines away. People need to know and understand the evils of the WTS.

At what speed are you comfortable driving on the highway?
by JH inhere in canada, it's maximum 100 km/h or 62 mph.
thats not fast enough for us quebecers.
we like driving atlest at 120km/h or 75 mph when the conditions are perfect.

I usually do about 72, but would love to do 80.
However, there are too many people on the road that cannot handle 65.
