  Is College now wrong for Jehovah's Witnesses again?

  i have been out of the jw's for many years now but i still have devout jw's family members.

  and i am attending college now at 40 yrs old working on my ba degree.

  i was so happy a few years ago when my jw mom told me that the wt is slacking off on telling jw's teenagers that college is bad and it is ok to attend college and universities.

  I suppose too many people in the last 10 years went to college and got smart and left the organization.

  This is pisses me off.

  Just when my still active son is getting ready to think about his future, and going to college. Even his active mother is encouraging it, though she wants him to go so she can still get the child support.

  Just when his is considering it, then he will go to the convention in a couple of weeks, and hear this crap.

  I did tell him though, that if anyone tells him not to go to college, first figure out if they are going to pay his bills, and when he realizes that no, they won't, then ignore them and go anyways.

  This is a wicked religion, destroying the education of thousands of children, and destroying untold families. And somewhere, somehow along the line someone things this is good???

  When will people wake up and realize that this man made organization is hurting much more than they are helping?

  Oh thats right, college encourages thought, and thinking for oneself.

  haunted places, haunted houses, haunted people, have you had a true encounter with the world beyond?

  i only read about it, i never experienced any of it.

  Yes, I have seen a ghost many times, I lived with it when I was growing up. Scared the hell out of me.

  Been 18 years though, but I remember it as if it was yesterday.

  they caught me off guard...i didn't sleep well because i had to put my cat rocco to sleep yesterday, and for some reason awoke at 2 a.m. to cry another hour...my eyes are puffy with big bags under them.

  so i went back to sleep.. since i decided to write this as a big run-on sentence, i have put what they say in red, and what i say in yellow.. dorothy was in her 70's, and she told me that in the new system, cats would still die but we wouldn't be so attached to them.

  First of all, welcome to the site.

  I want to encourage you to read many of the postings here, and think about them.

  You mentioned that from age 10 to 13 you gained much knowledge. I think that is great. However, what you also want is wisdom, and that is taking the knowledge and experiences from others, and applying to your life.

  There is a lot to be learned here. If you feel that this is the truth, then fine, however I encourage you to wait. The possible ramifications of getting baptized too early are too many to list.

  You have nothing but time on your hands.

  Read, learn, educate yourself even more. You'll be glad you did.

  One last thing. If the WTS is the truth, then it will stand up to anything.

  Convention Photo-half empty?

  after my wife returned from the district convention in san diego last weekend, she had this picture on her camera.. i find it interesting that they would rent this big stadium and then block off half of it.

  maybe this is what they always do, but it seemed a little funny to me.

  anyone else gone to qualcomm and seen it like this?.

  I went to this assembly a few times, and the fact is that there just are not nearly enough witnesses to fill it. Not even close. So they will pack them closer together, which gives the appearance of being more filled where they sit, and leaves a lot less cleanup everywhere else.

  i never did, although i did tell my former bible student/tennis partner that the bible does not condemn celebrating birthdays or recommend celebrating anniverseries.

  he told his jw brother who told his elders who told my po.

  when the po asked me about the conversation, i told him he asked me some questions and i truthfully answered., i said, "nothing i said was wrong or incorrect".

  To just a couple of people I expressed disappointment in the way things are done, which would labeled me as spiritually weak, or stumbled.

  Other than that, I kept my mouth shut.

  I will still visit some witnesses that I grew up with when I am in town, but no one asks me my position within the hall. I amuse myself thinking how they have no idea that they have an apostate in their home!

  I see a bunch of sad people walking very slowly. It brings back memories of having to do it myself, and being very grateful that I don't anymore.

  Other than that, I find it very entertaining to watch.
