WATCHTOWER PUBLICLY ADMITS HUMAN OPINION AND NOT GOD'S SPIRIT
by Terry incan any christian imagine jesus christ taking the pharisees to court and complaining to the sanhedrin:
"stop these men from quoting me accurately--it is embarassing!"?
the pharisees twisted words for their own benefit and opposed jesus publicly for exposing their errors as errors of men spouting human opinion and passing it off as god's authority.

Other than all the meetings and field service, I have many fond memories of the 80's.
I can't believe my 20th high school reunion is next year!

Would you buy a new car on a 60 month loan?
by Elsewhere ini have never done a 60 month loan and i have sworn i never would... but with how much cars are costing these days i'm wondering if i will have to do a 60 month loan on my next car.
that is five frigg'in years!
i paid cash for my last car ($4,500 - 1999 ford contour se, used) so i had no payments to make.

What is interesting, is nowadays, it is very common for people to make payments over 72 months, sometimes 84 months. How do you think they are affording $45,000 SUVs etc? And, even worse, many are taking seconds out of their house, or refinancing, and then they are paying 30 years for that vehicle.

I could not even imagine still being a witness. Life is good........ just need to get a couple of loved ones to see what the WTS is really about, and then I will be satisfied.
Life is not horrible like they say outside the organization. It is just fine, and great to have real friends too.

I have no doubt the witnesses were out there trying to take care of themselves...... what about all the "worldy" people that could have been encouraged by all the love of the brothers to everyone, no matter what religion?
Oh yes, silly me.

Since it is obvious all religion is wrong why do so many believe?
by jwfacts inany religion that claims it is the only correct one is obviously wrong.
by it's arrogance it becomes mutually exclusive of any other religion.
when one steps back they can see that the contradiction of one religion over the others is a proof that they all must be wrong.

Many sincere religions do not believe that they are the only way to God. Some do, of course, but not all.

Does anyone else not really care about Katrina?
by sonnyboy inok, some people may call me a heartless bastard for making this thread, but i have to be honest.. i really don't care about the hurricane victims.
i highly doubt that the people walking through walmart with shopping carts full of clothing and electronics would send me one f'ing red cent if i was in need (and i am in need, by the way).. i just can't find it in my heart to care at all.
maybe i'm the only one who thinks like this, but i've been struggling to survive for the past 2 years and no one has ever lifted a finger to help me.

It should not suprise us at all that some of the people in NO are acting criminal. There is that element of society no matter where we are.
I do feel sorry for those good people that have had everything they know ripped from them, especially families with kids.
Now, those who are looting anything but essentials to survive, those shooting at others, and commiting crimes against others, those people I couldn't give a rats ass about.
