There are many beautiful places on earth, but I chose Southern California, and would chose this area regardless.
Nothing wrong with having a couple of vacation homes, but I will stay here until I die.
if you still believe in the new system, and living forever on earth, where in the world would you like to live?

recently somebody posted here something about cooneyites.
i made a little research and was amazed how similar cooneyites are to jw's.
they do not believe trinity, they think they are unique and only true christians because of they preaching method, they shun their "apostates", they have obligatory meetings, even 3 conventions every year, they do not celebrate christmas, they even predicted that world will end august 1914 etc.. of course they have some differences too - they believe in hell, they do not preach jehovah's name .... and then there are christadelphians who do not believe trinity, the hell ... also quite similar to jw's.
It is interesting how the WTS stole many of their ideas from other religions.
They say that one should not pick and choose what they want to believe from a religion, but way back in the day, they left the Seventh Day Adventists, and changed the beliefs that they wanted to.
Who knows where the hell they came up with a paradise on earth, and no heaven. I do think they are alone with that one.
a person years ago made a comment to me, about witnesses.
they said that in their opinion, being a witness brought out the extreme in a person.. for example, if they were untrusting, they would trust less.. if they were vindictive by nature, they would become more hateful and vindictive.. if they were kind and loving, they would even be more so.. basically, whatever type of person they were, being a witness would intensify that persona.. have you found that to be true?
maybe you knew someone before they came a witness.
Welcome to the board Vee!
.
hey get a load of this.
he's only confirming what everyone else knows.... something tells me chretien feels the same way, he just doesn't want to ruffle any feathers.. http://www.cnn.com/2002/allpolitics/11/22/bush.not.moron.reut/index.html
Wow, quite a few Bush haters here......
I'm just glad that sorry as Gore isn't in office.
for those of you inclined to prayer, i request it in behalf of my dad.
he is in the hospital for a blood clot in his leg, which is potentially quite dangerous.
he cannot move until it is dissolved, if that happens.
Prayer already on the way for your dad Randy.

Have you found that to be true? To yourself, to others around you? Maybe you knew someone before they came a witness. Did they become more extreme in their viewpoints?
those who already walk submissively will say there is no cause for alarm.
but submissiveness is not our heritage.
the first amendment was designed to allow rebellion to remain as our heritage.
I do respect everyones viewpoints. Really, I do. I believe I can learn a lot from hearing other peoples view on subjects. May not change my own thoughts, but it can help me understand where another is coming from.
As I look back on these postings on this thread, I am really confused to what it is all about. I hear about not having rights, that we are imprisoned, basically that we are idiots that enjoy this country.
Is that what really is being said here?
Are those posting here really hating the country as much as it appears?

We can also decide to change things for ourselves. We can choose to be content with what we have, or we can do something about it.
There just is not much one person can do about changing things, but he does have the power to change his way of thinking.
I will not make excuses for wanting more out of life, or achieving goals, or what I do with my life. I treat those around me with love and respect, and work hard. To suggest that I am not aware of the sorrow and hardships around me is not right.
I respect those people that try hard to achieve things in life, and reach out for a hand up. I feel for those who are crying the blues, but wish that they would do something productive instead of crying about it.
Lets quit whinning, and do something positive!

The way I see it, is that we are stuck with what government we have. There are those in communist countries that have to deal with what they have. Others have to live with a dictator that will kill them if they disagree. We have the USofA, and as many problems as there may be here, it still is about as good as it can get.
We can learn to work with the system, or against it. There are laws, and we must adhere to them, and most of them are for our good anyways.
If we really wanted to see how bad it can be, why not ask those who must live under horrible conditions? See what it is really like.
One of my employees is from Russia. I get to hear first hand what was really like there, and this is only 10 years ago. Oh my God, do we have it made here. At least we are allowed to complain. He did not sugarcoat what was going on there. But many people there just don't know any better.
I am very suprised to read on these postings what sounds to me like just plain ole hatred of this country. I do not think that the laws here are very controlling at all. Not when compared to other countries.
Pomegranate- May I be bold enough to ask where you live, and what you do for a living?
