I do not, however, believe that he is going to destroy all those that the WTS teaches. What God does or does not do is not up to me. I live the best life that I can, and that is all I can do.
i joined this site last week hoping to meet people that would steer me back to the organization.
instead the people i have talked to her are all trying to tell me too see the light and get out of the organization.
in my opinion, not that it matters, i really think that if a person had the truth deeply ingrained in them, they would never leave the truth.
I would encourage you to read more and learn more from here. The comments you made are exactly what I would hear when I attended. The WTS facts are distorted at best.
In my opinion, you should investigate big time what people say here. The WTS asked those interested before baptizm to analyze their religion. They really make a good point of it. THEN, once you are in, don't dare question the WTS. Do NOT investigate; if you do you will be thrown out.
I challenge you to really investigate, with an open heart.
Sounds to me like you were raised in the WTS, and know nothing else. I am not critizing, for I too grew up as a witness. But I did check it out.

I remember this most at the assemblies. I remember them trying it out at the hall, but was pretty useless.
We had a small parking lot, that just was not large enough. So they encouraged those who could walk to park on the street, therefore leaving the parking spaces for those who couldn't.

I personally wish to live to a ripe old age. I think most countries that now have nuclear warheads, are responsible enough to understand what can happen with those, and will choose not to use them. So, I do not believe that the world will blow itself up with those; provided of course we keep them out of the hands of crazy dictators. But that is another subject.
Apart from having some illness that takes me sooner, I do plan on being on this earth well into my 90's.

I like the way you think. This is the way I look at it:
If you can cause just a little doubt in the minds of a few, then you have done a job well done. I don't care how "strong" someone is "in the truth", I firmly believe that even the smallest amount of doubt will forever haunt them.
If you do it, please absolutely post it here for our enjoyment, and let us know what happens.

there are many strong apposing views, as to be expected.. i personally am going to thank all those who are in the military; my hat is off to you, and i respect what you do, and i am very thankful.
you are the ones that must go out there and defend our freedoms.. i don't think most people desire war, but sometimes there seems to be little choice.
As I read some of the comments posted after my intitial posting, I had a couple of comments I wanted to add.
First of all, Yardiff, we must keep in mind, that in the bible God himself used armies to take care of things that needed to be done. Could God have just wiped his hand and taken care of whatever was going on? He can do anything. Again, he must have a purpose for how he does things, but my point on this issue is that he used armies time and time again. How are we to know that it is any different now??
I thought too how interesting it is, that those who are now in the military, or have been, basically support the possible war with Iraq. These are the people who really have their ass on the line. THEY will be there, not the majority of us. And they support the issue. Could be that perhaps they have more of clear idea what is going on?
I also noticed, that those who are supporting the war if it were to happen, and those that maybe don't support it but do support the people who serve, act very similar. There is a certain sense of calmness; not so quick to call others names, etc. Very level headed.
Maybe, just maybe, those who are in a position to actually make the decisions on this and other military actions, are thinking very clearly and rationally. Maybe they are not so quite eager to go to war than people would like to assume. Maybe the reasons for going are quite a bit more deep than we think.
i know that this subject has been talked about many times, but i am convinced that if the wts gets more fanatical, they will eventually ban witnesses from going on the internet.
yeah, i know it sounds goofy, but there are so many witnesses who are leaving as a result of what they have found on the net that the wts will have no choice, but to do it.
they will probably find some "new light" and probably sight some bible scripture.
The fact is that the internet is becoming more and more critical to the daily life of people. We think it takes our time now, imagine what it will be like 5 and 10 years from now.
We simply will not exist without it. There is no way for the WTS to ban it.

what event made you realize that you were serving a phony organization, and what was the turning point that made you see clear?.
I became an adult, and started to chose friends based on who they were, not what religion they practiced.
I met quite a few people that led more Godly type lives than many witnesses. I thought to myself, how is it that Jehovah is going to destroy these people?
I came to the realization that God would not do that, and that everyone would be judged by who they were as a person, and that is was not up to me to decide that for everyone else.
I have faded away, and will never go back again.
my dad passed away at the hospital today after a lengthy illness.
he was 84 years old.
some of the folks here have known for awhile that he had been ill, and they have been very supportive.
So sorry to hear about your loss.
if i seem out of it, for the next few days, it's because i fell down a flight of stairs, slipped on the carpeted stairs in my bare feet, and broke my tail bone, and split a toe open, and had to have stitches.
so i'm on heavey narcotics, and if you need to get ahold of me in any amount of time, then a phone call is the best bet.
