do you think that if a brother didn't become a ministerial servant in a reasonable amount of time, that he was considered weak?
did you want to be a ms or did you prefer not to have any responsibilities in the congregation?

I believe that many people strive and desire, for recognition. That being the case, I think it is natural for people to want to become a MS.
Personally, I would have thought it was cool, it would have meant more acceptance from those in the hall. But I never sought it out.
not really jw related, but when has this stopped any of us before.
representative charlie rangel has been calling for the draft to be reinstituted.

i thought it might be interesting to see how much of the worldly wisdom we have aquired .there are alot of quaint sayings that go way back in time here are some of my favorites to give an example - an ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure , a bird in the hand is better than 2 in the bush ,what's good for the goose is good for the gander .feel free to add your favs .

just thought i'd share with you some wierd happenings in my house..... i woke up one morning to see the figure of a young boy standing looking at me.
he was there for a split second then vanished.
i wasn't afraid - it was just sort of wierd.
I had a ghost in my house growing up, so I know they exist. It never harmed me, nor did anything around the house, except float around, go through walls, and sometimes look at us.
It is weird, but I will not disbelieve.
Remember to yell out Jehovah's name, and they will all go away!

i was just re-reading coc by ray franz, and had an idea.
as a jw i was allways concerned when the number of annointed went up in the yearly report, so this year why dont we all find halls that dont know us (if we are shy) and partake.. thousands of "new annointed" would put the shits up the society!, and the brothers!
please tell me what you think as im quite excited anout this idea.. .
Funny idea, however the local elders will likely not count anyone who they do not know. I know for a fact that has happened in the past.
They will meet in the back and discuss it, and not count it. Too bad, for this would be funny!

it's difficult to bring up all of the negative start in life, however, i believe that without my upbringing i would not have known where to search for the truth later on in life - within.
the jw is all i knew from the age of 6. when i left at 19 in the year of 1973, i was disfellowshipped for sex, drugs, and rock and roll.

this time of year many reflect on the past ands to come in the future.
i got to thinking .
of some of my friends i had growing up as a jw.
I have thought about this exact thing many times. I must admit, it is wonderful having friends outside the WTS who will be there regardless of whether I go to meetings or not, and that I can be myself around them.
One thing I have to remind myself, is that close friends that I had during the WTS time, some of them were true friends. But, they have the WTS to answer up to. Remember, they feel as though the WTS is God talking, and when the WTS says that you cannot associate with the df'd or da'd ones, they really believe that is what God wants. And that scares them into doing what the WTS says to do.
Many of our friends, who really were friends, did, and do still care. They just feel as though they cannot do anything about it. Because of that, I do not judge them. I hope one day that they will see the light. Until then, not so much I can do.
