Were you Patriotic when you were a Dub?
by JH in.
there are so many threads dealing with the possible war in iraq, that i wonder if you people were this patriotic when you were active dubs.. we were supposed to be neutral in world conflicts, and also neutral in politics.. were you really neutral then?.

Okay, Someone "Enlighten" Me... Pleas...
by AGuest injust what is it that saddam hussein has done/is alleged to have done... to warrant a war by the us upon his country, and the most certain result of mass murder of innocent men, women and children, as a result?.
now, i also ask you: please be careful in your response, as all i want are facts, versus emotional vengefulness... and such facts that say this is what he has done so that the us is rightfully entitled to war against iraq.
to that end, then, i would also ask that you make sure your reply takes into account that the us itself has not done similar... or equal... anywhere else in the world... so as to warrant the same result on upon them.. i await your response... and i truthfully bid you peace.. sj, a slave of christ, who is still trying to understand the "thoughts"... of earthling man... though i serious doubt i will....

Saddam has poisoned his own people, starved them, used biological weapons on them, and more. He even killed his daughters husband because he disagreed with Saddam.
Saddam has threatened us as well as other countries with weapons of mass destruction.

The Show of Over-Patriotism Astounds Me
by D8TA inwhile you watch your britney spears videos...your freedom is being taken away.. while you cheer for your nba team and drink that beer...your freedom is being taken away.. while you watch cnn/msnbc/foxnews reports about laci peterson and shuttle disasters....your freedom is being taken away.. while you see one of the greatest misdirections about "condition orange" blinking on your sets....your freedom is being taken away.. while you hoot-n-holler for going to war with saddam hussien...your freedom is being taken away.. while you turn on your computer to surf the internet...your freedom is being taken away.. while you worry about what sports car to buy...your freedom is being taken away.. while you sit in your home with the heat on, enjoying 3 sqaures a day...your freedom is being taken away.. while you worry about your next job promotion...your freedom is being taken away.. while you are being suckered by the greatest sham from the u.s. government...your freedom is being taken away.. it's amazing, that very few here realize what the patriot act and dept.
of homeland defense represents....and what is now in place.
for the rest who don't know...you have my pity.

Do you really think things are going to change much from the way they are now?
Though I am not suggesting that there is no other place to have a good life, there is no where else that I would want to live.
The fact is we have many freedoms that most don't on this planet.

What if the US loses?
by Robdar inwhat if we lose the war with iraq?
i watch the news and all commentators act as if our winning is a given.
yes, we are the biggest, baddest nation; we have the nukes, but what if?

Whether or not the US has the support of other countries really doesn't matter. It makes things easier, sure, but ultimately the US will do what it needs to do.
We are the country everyone else looks to when they need help. They may complain, but when push comes to shove, they will do nothing to stop it. They know it will only harm them in the future.
They try, and they will get same same wrath that Iraq will get.

Yes, too much of it revolved around witness activities. Sadly, most of my memories come from those. I am grateful for the life I now have, and it is my choice not to allow what happened back then to control my life now.
I do wonder though, how my life would have been different had I been allowed to date during high school, to celebrate holidays, to participate in school sports, to have a larger range of friends.

Iraqi soldiers -- screwed
by MegaDude inthese guys are stuck between a rock and a hard place.
if there is a war, you get the impression it is going to be very, very short.
the choice for iraq's rag-tag army: be killed by the us or by saddam .

Well, this time we have a specific purpose in going over to Iraq. We will be doing whatever it takes to get rid of Sadaam. Let's remember that was never our purpose last time.
I do believe we will see his army give up rather quickly.

Rumsfield has been in white house positions for quite some time now. He is fully qualified to talk about current events going on in this country, and the effect that others have upon it.

At least Bush stands for what he believes in. I would not have wanted to see Gore after 9/11 or in any crisis for that matter.

Do YOU answer the door now?
by christopherceo inwhen i left the org the elders would come by at the most inopportune time at least every day sometimes twice.
i never answered the door, i just continued doing whatever it was i was doing and ignored the pounding at the door knowing it ticked them off because they knew i was home.
when the witnesses randomly come to my door now i still don't answer but have thought about it just to give them hell.

I would look first. If I knew these witnesses (unlikely) I would not answer. If they were witnesses that I did not know, I would answer, and give them something to think about.
