can i get your opinions?
by danb71 inhey all:.
first off, i want to say how much reading your posts along with the rest of this site (and others) has helped in the last year or so.
i've been out--df'd--since '95 and was pretty comfy with my reasons for leaving, till my fiancee turned me on to this site last summer.

Sure does sound odd. I would get much more information before doing anything.

Nothing quite like good ole Southern California, slight breeze, palm trees, plenty of sunshine and warmth. In fact, a little too warm, excuse me while I turn on the A/C.

Since leaving the org..what do you do with the time that you now have free?
by MoeJoJoJo inafter quitting meeting attendance, study for meetings and field service we gain alot of time.
i wasn't used to having that time to just do nothing and i've never been used to doing just nothing (relaxing and having time to stop and smell the roses).
so i joined the pto, my kids signed up for sports, i became a parent volunteer at the school, i became a coach and the list goes on.

I am very busy now, with work, family, friends. Cannot imagine having to spend so much time going to the meetings, service, personal study, assemblies, etc.

Many times, after all the facts come out, we find that the protesters were actually committing a crime. Some don't listen to the police when told to break up, to find a better place to do the protesting.
Though it is a right to protest, it is not a right to block a place of business, nor to cause traffic problems, nor to cause safety issues.
As we all know, many times these "peace" protesters and others commit acts of violence, and sometimes cause riots in the streets. Sometimes, they are the most violent of all.
Police need to keep safe those around the area that has protesters in it.
If I were caught in the middle of a protest, and there was possible danger to myself or my family, trust me, I too would take action.
If a protester is told by the police to move, and he doesn't, I feel no sorrow for him when his sorry ass gets shot by a rubber bullet.

disgusting comment made
by SpiceItUp inso i'm helping out my mother with her garage sale this weekend.
kinda boring sitting around in the heat (although i can't complain too much since we were in a nice patch of shade and had a decent breeze).
a "customer" pulls in and my mother quietly whispers to me "isn't that so-n-so's dad (a dub girl i went to school with).

I had a friend who has a couple of young kids, and they are all moderately active. The parents are worried what would happen to the children if they ( the parents) died. The kids have grandparents, but because the grandparents are inactive, in the event they die, the parents have it written in a will that the kids will be raised by someone in the hall who is active, instead of their flesh and blood grandparents, who are great people, just inactive.
I feel so sad for the family, I love them dearly, but they are so blinded by the organization.

The nonsense you just wrote is ............ well, just that: complete nonsense! What utter rubbish!
I cannot believe someone really believes that Bush is as bad as Saddam! I best end this comment before I say something that gets deleted.
