  do you remember all the munipulation and antics witnesses use to get out of actually going to the door and talking to people about the bible?.

  i only bring this up because in another thread i posted someone made the assertion that if witnesses voted as a group they would change the election.

  it like saying the witnesses go to every door in the world with the good news and their the only group doing the work!.

  There are no present ties today, but Russel was obviously influenced by them. Rutherford made the JW's what they are today and he was not a free mason. AFAIK

  Cong = Sister work in Cigarettes section of supermarket/ Nurse give blood??

  a sister for many years has worked in the, 8 items or less section.

  however, this is the only lane that sells cigarette's.

  going to say hi is tough as she's interupted by people asking for malbro extra mild 40's....and she know exactly what to look for!!!

  I don't think it is hypocritical to sell cigarettes since the bible does not forbid selling tobacco. I think handling and giving blood is clearly against the teachings of the bible and people that participate should be burned at the stake, err I mean DFed or DAed

  i have been lurking here for awhile- i think i first came to this board 8 years ago, a couple of years after i'd walked away from the jws.

  i have found that even after all this time there are still things that come up for me, particularly about feeling 'safe' in the world, feeling ok. .

  i'm moving back to the forest in a few weeks, due to my disinclination to be around large groups of people and the reactions i have to the toxicity of civilisation.

  ...it's blood stance with medical reasons.

  they've put out countless articles and brochures on the subject based purely from a medical standpoint.

  i just scratch my head at this.

  Well they are reenforcing the belief system by using information that supports their biblical view. This is the same thing that creationist do regarding evolution and Scientologists do about psychiatry. You want to reassure the follower that they are following the right and true path.
