their creator is, in his mind fighting disease, imperfection, death, by taking out people's brains, putting them into metal bodies that can never decay, and over riding their emotions.. the doctor asks the creator of the cybermen what point there will be in living and existing, if it was not for suffering and pain and death.
there would be nothing to strive for, nothing to overcome.

I grew up with Tom Baker, my favorite. But I will say that the new series is quite good and faithful to the original.

i have been working on several charts to help explain things better and i need an early watchtower reference or book reference which shows the wt's teaching that a generation was 30 or 40 years.
any help is appreciated.

I am not looking for a bootleg copy, unless that is the only way I can get it.....I would prefer to get it from who originally was selling it. Hey, let me see how many times I can say that! PPS, I currently have the 2003 watchtower library installed on my notebook. It seems to only have WT's back to 1970 but I could have swore that earlier versions had them back to 1950, can anyone confirm this without me having to dig out my old earlier copys and see which one it was.

my son, just recently coming back into my life, told me he had his done,,,,and i was wondering,,any here know of theirs, and how it might have affected their lives, their outlook, etc.
Taking an IQ test as an adult is basically useless.
It needs to be administered in a controlled way and the particular test has a focus age group.
Only those scores gotten when tested at a young age are any help at all. Although I doubt they have any direct relation to "smarts".
Mine is 170+ when I was in the 4th grade.
It really only is to measure ones ability to learn not "how smart" you are.
If you learn too fast you get really board with school and the lamo "normal" kid's pace and do poorly as a result. Which is what happened to me. My teachers hated the fact that I just didn't try. I would just ace tests and such.
Well, I am better than most of you. HA HA HA....LOL JK...

So the kids each paid $9 for the frame, which gives a total of $27. The shopkeeper has $2, for a total of $29.

I agree with some of the above posts, I am just adding some of my own perstective in addition. --- Why do they have to go door to door? *JW don't "HAVE" to go door to door, that is a misconception. In many areas it is considered the most effecient method to cover a territory and maintain records of such, making the effort to reach everyone possible. Other forms of ministry are acceptable, including informal, at work, street witnessing, letter writing, etc... Anyone who tells you that door to door is a "requirement" is not accurate, though it is strongly encouraged. Why are they so manipulated brainwashed by the WTS? *Once someone is convinced that something is true, an individual starts to rely on the source of that percieved truth. This is not necessarly a bad thing since if one did not have a strong conviction and loyalty they would be swayed by any idea comming along. Someone posted a good link to an article which discussed the physiology behind beliefs, it was quiet reasonable, It is a few post back in a topic I started. Why do they consider other faiths pagan or bad? *In their POV these faiths have compromised and incorporated pagan beliefs. Doing so in their minds makes them pagan. This is a point that could be argued, but you would have to examine JW beliefs as well. Who decided that birthdays are pagan celebrations and are thus BAD? What does one have to do with the other? *Many secular researchers have identified that the origin of birthday celebrations were associated with non-jew non-christian peoples often times noting astrological significance. As for birthday cakes well wishing and other common birthday stuff, these all have roots in superstition, pagan worship, and spiritism. One needs to ask themselves how far removed does a custom need to be from its pagan, spiritistic origins before it is not offensive to God. I am not the one to say, each has to choose for themselves. Where in the Bible does it say that displaying flags is so BAD? Again, what does one thing have to do with the other? *The bible does not say displaying flags is bad, infact the bible indicates that isreal used flags/banners, likely to identify belonging to a particular tribe. It is a symbol that identifys you with a particular country today, thus those taking the bible's command to be seperate from the world very literal may feel that displaying a flag is not in harmony with their faith. Why do JWs take the Bible so literally for some things and then symbolically when it's convenient to them? *The fact is that the bible is at times literal and at times symbolic. Different ones take various parts to be either or as they feel it agrees with their "understanding" of the bibles message and what they believe as "truth" HTH

So therefor they have the same source, possibly" He mentioned that christians used eggs as representations of new life, and I said "that may be so but this was most likley after they had obsorbed many customs from formerly pagan peoples also it has been well attested to that rabbits & eggs are symbols of fertility and the rabbit was used as a representation of the previously mentioned goddess" Well, he continued to mention the point about the cross and and read the scriptures in galations and 1 corinthians, I said that was interesting and asked him to read Deut 4:15-19 and once he was finished I explained that the scripture indicated that they should make an image of nothing so that they would not be "seduced" to bow down to it and that we want to be carefull about religious symbols that we do not give them special importance. I commended him for having an intrest in unbiased truth and we went our seperate ways. Hey, I can be funny too!

we talked about several things of little consequence and then i made mention of a point out of the reasoning book to underscore the importance of our need to be well versed in the facts that support our beliefs.

I will be cautious, but as Quotes can testify she is a power keg and I don't know if it is possible to reconcile both her nature and my desire for truth, no matter how well I handle the matter, I definitly want to keep my marriage intact, only time will tell....I am sure I could go much much further into detail, I just don't feel like it right now.
