Hi pyrojoe,

Welcome to the board. My husband and I both left together about 2 years ago. We were in for 12 years. We have two kids ages 11 and 13, they never got baptized. My hubby was a MS and I was a Pioneer for about the last five years. Left for many reasons including: hiding of child molestors in the org. (which I have first hand knowledge), sick of studying books and wanted to learn what the bible really said, constant changes in doctrine including the 1914, finally woke up that it was just another religion. Did not bring anyone in, thank God for small blessings. And now have a personal relationship with God thru Jesus Christ and do not affiliate with any certain "Religion". I am free to choose where I want to worship and when. Hope this helps. Lilly

That information is very good. I never really read much from the early church fathers but I agree that the WT does not understand the divine nature of Christ. Like your material brings out he was always with Jehovah, having no beginning and was in essence or nature God. I think the goal of the WT in writing the NWT bible was to hide the divinity of Christ. I remember reading the book of John in another bible translation and boy, were my eyes opened. It is very clear in scripture that Christ was of divine nature. Even the Pharisees knew Jesus meant this when he said he was Gods son. They told him he blasphemed by saying he was God's own son, making himself equal to God. So they knew Jesus was saying he was Equal to God. Not the same person as Jehovah but the same in nature, the bible clearly shows this even without reading the info. you provided although it is good info. The NT testifies in other texts besides book of John to this fact also. All the scriptures in the NWT that show Christ's divinity have been seriously altered.

Also I read something before about the "should you believe the trinity" brochure. I know the WT was very dishonest in writing this. I heard that they altered a lot of the quoted information. I am not saying I am a full believer in the Trintiy. But the point of that Christ is not a created being, I agree with trinitarians on.

In your research paper you are doing, have you put in there quotes only from the early church fathers to prove the divinity of Christ, or did you quote scripture too? Because there are many, many bible texts that prove this. If you want, I could research all of them and email them to you if you want to include them in your paper. I know most by heart so it will only take a day to compile together and send it. You may already have this information but I don't know? I still don't believe the Holy Spirit is a person in the same sense as Jehovah and Jesus but perhaps once I read your final research I will have a better understanding of why you feel this way. I gave you my thoughts previous to this on what I believe about the Holy Spirit. But as far as Christ, I have a lot of information from the bible about his divinity.

I think this prayer can be said word for word but you can also pray in your own words. Is this prayer not called the model prayer? Is not a model an example? I don't know but I like to address my heavenly father in my own words and I just speak from the heart. I think either way is o.k., if we approach God with a humble heart and believe he is listening, than what difference does it make what words we use? I think here in Matthew and in other prayers, Jesus was giving us examples of things we could pray for.

I did check in another bible version and the text is talking about empty words and babbling and use of many words that do not make sense.

I believe in the end, how we pray and what we say is a personal decision between us and God.

my neighbor called me on the phone and thought i would like to know that 2 people were digging in my trash and asked if she should call the police.

child abuse is not limited to jw's.. if you truly want to stop child abuse first start with the family , and be honest we all have a relative that is a pedophile.. then protect your family from stranger danger.. don't just isolate to jw's.. expand and truly stop the child abuse world wide.

I am almost positve now that JW is just a child or maybe young teen. But I wanted to add that prayer to the bottom of my post for any Jehovah's Witness Lurkers in the hopes that it will nudge their conscience a little bit. The more we get out how outraged people are about the Org. hiding pedophiles the better. But jw gave himself away because he could not resist the sarcasm and using the term Duh! I have an 11 and 13 year old so I hear this term a Lot. He is about the third one this week that was pulling our chains. Glad he went to bed. And I won't bother answering him any more, so maybe he will give up and move onto another site.

I would think that that creature is an ancestor to an alligator of some sort not a human. Can someone explain to me how this could be a missing link of a human? I am curious as to how we jump from an animal that crawls on the ground and under water to a standing erect human? Is it because this animal has some similar characteristics? Also, I can understand people using the term early man or cave man but how could we possibly be evolved from an amphibian? Don't animals have to evolve from the same species? I think I agree with Rex on this one. I am not being sarcastic, I would really like an honest answer if anyone has one. Thanks.

please you are not a grown man and you are not fooling me. Grown men do not say Duh! My 13 year old says that.

And if you had children and were grown you would know that no 7 year old boy has his mother bring him into the bathroom. I was in the same kingdom hall since my kids were born. Why would I think an elder would not protect my child when I can guarantee you, I would have protected his child.

As far as hurting him, If you read my other posts, I have post traumatic stress disorder and freak out if anyone hurts any child. Ever heard of temporary insanity? Believe me, I will hurt anyone that hurts my child, it is called a mother's instinct.

You so so foolish and uneducated in your posts. I don't know what kind of home you live in, but my kids would never be molested taking out the trash. Come on, is that even a real response or are you just pulling my chain?

You just do not want to face the facts that there is a problem in the JW org. just as bad if not worse than in the Catholic church. And its because so many of the members are naive, uneducated, and believe the Org. will protect them and then reality hits them and they realize they are on their own after all.

Please don't respond to this post. I have no interest in speaking with a child. One last thing here is a prayer I have said many times since leaving the org:

Thank you Jehovah God and Jesus for keeping my children safe, knowing I could not handle them being molested like I was as a child and for releasing me from the bondage of one of the largest false religions of Babylon the Great - the Watchtower Organization. (Evil Publishing Empire). And for helping me to realize that this EVIL organization did not even DESERVE to have any contact with my precious children who you gave to me as a gift. AMEN
