we had our special assembly day this weekend.. what the district overseer stated in his talk totally stunned me, and made me feel sick to my stomach.
he said, "christ is directing us through the governing body, and we cannot get holy spirit except through them!".
i do not wish to reveal all my thoughts on his statement, but i pray to god that it acts as a wake-up call to at least some of the audience.. suffice to say that the gb is now the mediator to our mediator, and from now on, i will have to pray for holy spirit through the name of the gb!!.
Yep, they are an idol, hence all those who idolize them by calling them "mother", and wondering "what will the society say about this or that". Like Tec said, this has been going on for years but now the WT is more blantant about it.
And WHY wouldn't they be when so many are still hanging on afraid to leave them for the real world even though they are absolutely misearable. You can just imagine the MAJOR ego trip those at the tower are enjoying right now!

my husband txt'd the classmate last night and he didn't reply until this morning.. classmate (cm): sorry bro, i was at a bible study last night, i go every thursday.. my husband and i look at each other, a bible study on a thursday?
oh crap this guy much be either studying with the jw's or he was at a meeting last night.. hubby's txt back: oh cool dude...who are you studying with?.
Nope, JWs are not Christians. Its really sad isn't it? They were duped by the WT to worship an organization instead of Christ and they believe they are the ONLY Christians, yet due to thier beliefs, they are not even in the running to be real Christians.

i called one of them a few weeks back.
he said they sent it to bethel and haven't heard back yet.
Its a wonderful letter. Sorry for your losses. But I agree with Jgnat. That organization is not worth dying over.
I also wrote a letter and addressed many Q's I had for the organization. That was 10 years ago and I have not gotten any response yet. They will probably ignore your letter and instruct the elders to announce that "by your actions you are no longer a JW".
Remember the new change? You no longer need to say you are no longer a JW, the elders can make that decision for you. So do not be surprised at this.
I went into counseling for a long time. It does help. Try to seek out someone who is experienced with dealing with people who were in cults or who were emotionally or spiritually abused which is what happened to all of us.

the winter storm watch has just been upgraded to a blizzard watch.
from where i sit, just outside of boston, it looks like up to 2 feet of snow from friday to saturday with high winds that will make travel very difficult if not impossible.. .

I live south of boston, will be about 2 feet of snow. I work for a visiting Nurse, as a hospice aide. As of now, only have 3 patients tomarrow morning then will be off road. Thankfully I am not on call this weekend.
Went grocery shopping today, store was packed. Got my flashlights ready and candles.
Hope we don't loose power, I have 2 sump pumps (live near a pond) and 1 is electric. The bigger one. One big boston storm we had to evacuate when we lost power and the smaller pump (acid battery) could not keep up with water coming in.

I agree 100% with Billy on this. Its a papal power grab (LOVE this term) and trying to divert attention away from all those partaking now.
With this "new light" we will eventually see new light on partaking. I am calling it now.............sooner or later ALL will be able to partake. And thats because its not "special" anymore. Too many are doing it already. So in order to help the dubs "digest", the new light, they need to give them a bone so they still feel special in jehovahs eyes. So why not let them ALL partake? What diff does it make if only 8 men truly matter anyway?
And by doing this, they can pull in more members from other churches most of which would NEVER join or even consider the JW's a church with no partaking! They need to go more mainstream, like the worldwide church of God or they will perish. They new new blood (no pun intended)
So I am calling it now, new light soon to follow, all members to partake but 8 men still make ALL the rules, lol
over 2 years ago, my daughter was diagnosed with end stage congestive heart failure.
she has come so far.... and even rides her bike 5 to 6 miles per day now.

i want to see her happy.
My kids were 9 and 11 when I left, followed shortly therafter by their dad. Since I was raised in the world, I was always open minded and did not shove WT doctrine down my kids' throats. They were allowed to play at my home with non witness kids or at the local park. Yeah I took flack from other sisters but did not care.
So I think since I wasn't too stringent with the WT rules it was easier for my kids to leave. And I also taught them to prove things to themselves.
my wife got me started watching this show last year.
we've downloaded the previous seasons on netflix and have found it to be really well done.
the story line, scenery,costumes,old cars and compelling characters have us hooked.

I am a history buff and love the time periods covered. I not only have the dvds but have the books too. And the book that inspired the series called "how to marry an english lord".

He is one of those who believe the WT became Apostate and that some of the JWs are still faithful. Comparing them to the faithful jews when isreal went apostate. He believes he is a faithful anointed one and accepts most of the system set up by the WT.
Its a bunch of bunk.
The WT was always considered apostate according to the rest of christendom because they do not accept Jesus as God.
Also the Jehovah God of the WT, does not exist.
King and those like him need to leave all the WT teachings behind and take a basic course on Christianity and the NT and they will be fine.
