SHE'S A JW- I AM NOT, WE WANT TO GET MARRIED

we have been dating for 21/2 years (some would say secretly dating) and i care a great deal for her and i share the same feelings as her when i say we want to get married.

i was raised in the church all my life now that we are talking about marriage my jw girlfriend is saying the only way we can get married is if i get baptise.

i don't believe some of the things they preach(well many of the things) .

I don't believe some of the things they preach(well many of the things) . I tried the whole study thing and it wasn't for me and i even had a "brother" get on me for coming to a wed meeting without a suit on (I got off work late and went straight to the hall). Should i go through the motions of studying AGAIN so that I can get baptised and marry this girl I love(i would more then likely stop going to the hall very soon after) We even went to see a pre marriage conselor who told us "that we should never ask some one to change the essence of who they really are".

Should i keep working to find a way to work our situation out or is this just a dead deal?

i have been reading all of the feed back for saddler and the others.

i too have been in a relationship with a jw for a little over a year.

i love her very much but all the abuse i have taken over the pass year from her elders, uncles, grandfather...etc has really taken it's toll on me.

I don't believe what i was asked........ she asked me to fake it and get baptize so i can marry her. she also said she wouldn't care it i didn't want to follow through after that as long as i would go to the meetings on sunday with her.

I feel this is just family pressure. What gives with these JW women? Man this really sucks having a girlfriend that can't think for herself. Maybe i can convert her, does anyone know how to convert a JW?

Thanks for your replies,since alot of you guys are x witnesses can you tell me (if there is such a thing) a way to make her see the wrong in the way that WT treats people. I thought God was a God of love ( That's what the bible says ) and still i have yet to feel any love from her family and the friends. I don't understand how her mother can feel that way about me when she has asked me to be her bussiness partner about 6 months ago.She talks about how good of a person i am and how she loves the fact that she can trust me, yet she says things like " I can't give this marrage my blessing." I feel that the mom and dad is letting me hang around as long as I can be of some benefit to them ( needs my help to start new company) and as soon as they don't need me they are going to turn up the heat to have me removed from the picture. I just can't see how my girlfriend can't see through all this garbage.

I love her very much but all the abuse i have taken over the pass year from her elders, uncles, grandfather...etc has really taken it's toll on me. we are the same or compatible in so many ways yet this one issue seems to be bigger then life it's self. The part that kills me is that people in their hall is allowed to cause trouble in our relationship.

I have heard that after you get married they would get off our backs, but i feel that if she can stand by her feelings for me now; how can she than? She says that she loves me and i believe her. she told me she wants to marry me but she has to have a hall wedding. This doesn't make since to me because i have told her many times b4 that i will not convert to her faith.

My heart loves her a great deal, but my mind has grown tired of the games and hatred that has been shown towards me by her family and hall members.

im in love with a Jehovah's Witness

i've fallen in love with a jehovah's witness and i know she feels the same way about me but the problem is that im a methodist and cant find it in me to give up my faith and become a jehovah's witness as i would not expect her to give up her faith and it is driving us both crazy.

i've known this lovely lady for the past 8 years and have only now told her how i feel and every second im away from her im thinking of her wanting to be with her.

so im asking people who might know or be able to help
