  why can't witnesses be like normal people?

  because they have to think about every single possibility that might or could occur.

  what if someone could be "stumbled" by my course?

  hahah...yep, yep!

  My mother-in-law loves to come to MY house and try to run things...(I know this is typical M-I-L behavior, but my mom doesn't do this when she comes over)...M-I-L acts like she's helping, but she's actually voicing out all the things that are wrong. blah, blah, blah...it's so freakin' annoying. Also, what's up with the negative thinking...??? omg, there's always a rapist going around (lock your door), a bad virus (take care of the baby), and more horrible things happening that she's ALWAYS talking about.

  My husband had a headache the other day and she right away diagnosed him with a tumor!!! Hello!!! How sick is that!!! All that negative thinking is BAD..it jinx the person. I was taught not to think that way b/c it can actually happen. By mentioning it so much it can actually happen!!

  hi all, hope that someone can help!

  i was recently studying with the jw's and i'm just not sure on what to do.. i feel guilty because i canceled study for the time being.

  i just have so many questions.

  Welcome to the forum...confuused!

  I'm not JW, but my husband and his family are. I'm here on a mission. I'm here to learn as much as I can about it and educate myself by hearing the many testimonies of all the cool people that are members of this forum. I really appreciate all the help I've gotten in regards to this and the answers to my questions. I don't ask my JW in-laws or husband b/c I don't want to get into arguments or create animosity. I will NEVER convert b/c I've always been very happy believing what I believe and glad that I can love everyone and accept the choices they make.

  Don't get sucked into an organization before looking deeply into it, before talking to those who have been through it, or doing the right kind of research. Do it for your own good!!! Any religious organization that tries to separate you from your family and loved ones is just WRONG!!! So, think about it and make the RIGHT choice! GOD IS LOVE!!!

  Don't feel guilty...follow your heart.

  Gay & Lesbian JW where are you?

  i came out of the closet when i was 18 yrs to my parents & the elders expelled me out ever since that my life has changed completely!!!

  i was born under a jw household and i finally celebrated my first birthday when i was 21 yrs and it felt weird.

  i was just wondering how to cope w/ this feelings, sometimes i want to go back but i can't ignore my feelings.

  I'M NOT GAY, BUT I BELIEVE IN EQUALITY.

  ONE OF THINGS THAT I'M STRONGLY AGAINST IS DISCRIMINATION AND PREJUDICE OF ANY KIND. I'M PRETTY SURE THERE ARE TONS OF JWs OUT THERE "IN THE CLOSET" AND IN "DENIAL" B/C OF WHAT THEY ARE TAUGHT AND WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS IN REGARDS TO HOMOSEXUALITY. WHAT THEY CHOOSE TO DO WITH THEIR LIVES IS IN THEIR HANDS. I DON'T THINK ANYONE SHOULD LIVE UNHAPPY LIVES IN ORDER TO MAKE THEIR FAMILY/ORGANIZATION/RELIGIOUS GROUP HAPPY...

  What was the first thing Adam said when he set eyes on Eve?

  according to the bible he decided to name her "woman".

  in the previous verses he had been on an exercise to name all the beasts of the field and birds of the air.. personally, if i'd been wandering around a paradise garden on my own for years naming animals and suddenly set eyes on a perfect naked woman, i think i would be inclined to invent the first swear word.. although later, when eve gave birth, adam said it had been "with the lord's help".

  so maybe he wasn't quite as spontaneous as i'd imagined, or maybe adam thought god was serious when he said she was a "helper".

  Someone tried to perform an exorcism on me, believing that I was under Satan's influence. She tried to touch my head and begin chanting and told me Jesus was standing right next to me. She wanted to "free" me from the yoke I was under. I was with my daughter at the time and we just started walking backwards, slowly until we got out the door.

  OMG, how scary!!! That was probably my sister, haha..nah, just kidding!

  Yeah, that's what I wonder about a lot. Going door to door for me is inconceivable. I grew up in NYC and my sibs and I couldn't even go trick-or-treating on Halloween b/c of the horror stories we were told. Now, I imagine all the crazy people JWs probably encounter out there. My Mother-in-law has told me that one time this man dumped a bucket of water on her and her sister while out on the field from a second story window. She told me it was b/c they woke the man up from his sleep by the constant knocking.

  Should Witness parents be allowed to adopt nonWitness children?

  with my sister now in the process of adoption, i am becoming more and more aware how the courts view witnesses.

  although you are told religion will not play a factor, my sister says that a lot of attention has been focused on the fact that her husband and her are not both witnesses and they want to know "now" what religion the child will be raised in.

  they have not said that it would play a factor, but i think it will.

  here's a question and forgive me if someone's already touched on this subject, but...

  why don't jws, like the catholics & christians, have their own private schools where they can exercise their "no saluting flags, no celebrations, no holidays ( they can go to school all year long!!!!

  imagine what the curriculum would be like.
