Thanks again Terry, I hope I wasn't rude. In fact, I've got an example for you. Yesterday, I was reading in a local Catholic bulletin about the president of the Council of Inter-faith Relations at the Vatican, who said that if the Church of England were to ordain women as bishops, then the Catholic Church would sever inter-faith relations with them.
I stopped and said to my dad "Wait a minute. That seems a little too harsh. It's one thing to deny women to be priests in their own religion, but to ridicule and ignore a Protestant bishop just because she's a woman is just plain prejudice. They have no right to regulate what goes on in other religions." Then my dad said, "that's just one guy talking, he is not the Pope, and he does not speak for all Catholics. However, if a Protestant were to hear this, or even a woman for that matter, they would think we all think this way. Every organization has its form of politics, no matter who they are." Then I said to him,
"At least we have the freedom to disagree with this guy, so did a few others in the bulletin. Think about it, if you're a Catholic priest, living in America, and a female Protestant bishop was standing in the same room as you, would you refuse to talk to her simply because some old coot in Italy told you not too? Of course not!"
So there you have it Terry. We didn't like something in our own organization and we weren't afraid to say it. The point is, God comes first to me, simce I have a personal relationship with Jesus. Yes, I belong to an organization to which I have been baptized, and I believe in its principles, but I certainly don't agree with everything my leaders say. In fact, in my church, the staff told me that if I believed and obeyed ALL the rules ALL of the time, then there would be something seriously wrong with me!

Terry, thank you so much, you are a delicious literary conisseur. It's like I'm reading a public service announcement. Your wickidly acidic tongue is like rancid asparagus to your enemies. You have carved up the Watchtower roast beast! Oh, the Watchtower Roast Beast is a feast I can't stand in the least!
Oh no, I'm speaking in RHYMES!! Like a chilled bucket of Haggan-Daaz, your are semi-seet and a little nuts.
Ok I'll stop with the food jokes. Seriously, fantastic post. Just one thing though. Comparing the watchtower leaders to the Pope is a little inappropriate. If a Catholic doesn't follow the rules (belief in trinity, birth control, pre-maratial sex, infallibility of Pope etc), that is their choice. They don't get excommunicated for doing so. Unlike witnesses, they are not rank and file drones. I don't mean to rant, but I just wanted to make that distinction. Anyway, I LOVE YOUR ARTICLE!!
PUT THAT IN YOUR PIPE AND SMOKE IT WATCHTOWER!!!!!

Is the Watchtower Society strong enough to win this war with the internet?
by jack w incould it be that the wts actually thinks it can win this war?
i mean, they are forcing sites to close down, suing the people that run them etc.
i wonder if this is the way they want to "handle" the internet problem.

They will try, remember the harlot will certainly not go down without a fight, to use their own words. Except, I don't specify gender, unlike the WT, who hate women. In fact, most of the "harlots" I've ever met were men.
Yes they will eventually lose. To people who use their brain, the WT is already dead. But the real question is this: who or what will take the WT's place? As long as there will be people, there will always be war, and as long as their is religion, there will always be cults. So it is inevitable someone will take their place. The question is who... -

I am speechless. How can this guy ask you where you got your info, then attack you for not getting it from the "offical WT website" when everybody knows that there is no material on their website!! It's just a couple of pages with a vague description of who they are! No email, no bible, no magazines, past or present!
Where else are you going to get the info!! Also, the way he touches you is revolting and makes my skin crawl, and the way he describes his "knowledge" pointing to his head like a real dumb-ass.
One more thing. Isn't it astonishing the way he says "send the kids away for a while," when you have no realitives on your side. THIS SHOWS THEIR REAL VIEWS OF FAMILY. IT'S ALL ABOUT MANIPULATION. They order you to shun family members, they undermine the family structure, THEY ENCOURAGE FAMILY MEMBERS TO BETRAY EACHOTHER, and along comes this talking boob, passing as a knowledgeable leader, and tells you to leave the kids with realitives. How can you do that when they've ruined your family!?
DISGUSTING!! -

"Maybe they are now starting to count dead publishers. After all, didn't "Rye"therford say that Russell was directing the work from heaven after he died? I think the Mormons marry or baptize dead people, so why not the WT? Nothing they ever do will surprise me again."
HA HA HA, that's great. Maybe the watchtower leaders will one up the mormons and all become necrophiliacs!
It would certainly explain the smell... -

I'll send everything I have, which isn't much. May God bless you, and give you the strength to say the things that millions of people cannot.
The memory of Bethany Hughes will live forever in the hearts and minds of true Christians long after the wicked Watchtower has crumbled.

So what's the deal with the ex-bethelites? Is it just because they're old and the WTS is getting rid of them, or maybe they found out some dirty secrets and they want them silenced? I don't understand...

WALKING THE WATCHTOWER TIGHTROPE
by Terry inever go to a circus and watch the tightrope walkers go from one end of the stretched line to the other balancing precariously along the way?.
it is only compelling to watch because one good slip could plunge the hapless performer to their doom!
the balancing act, then; becomes a question of getting from point a to point b without dying!

Terry this is great! I've got another one for you. Since we frequently use the Borg as an analogy for the Watchtower, I present the Brog mantra!
"We are the Borg. Lower your shields and surrender your ships. We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own. Your culture will adapt to service us. Resistance is futile."
Translation:
"We are the Watchtower. Open your doors and surrender your pocket books. Your biological and technological distinctiveness will cease to function. Your family will be destroyed to service us. RESISTANCE IS FUTILE."
Think about it. Among the rank and file, are there really any individuals? Or do they operate as one single collective entity, receiving orders in the form of magazines from the central hive, The Watchtower.
Maybe fiction is not so fictious as we thought.
