I have to agree. Raised as a JW we were taught to ignore and totally not even hear historical data that is published in countless libraries throughout the earth. JWs are lofty, egotistical, blind to the real world. That's why (I found) we were taught to constantly read JW literature, repeat and memorize it, it was self hypnosis that was constantly reinforced at the 5 meetings each wk.

I like the comments made here. And per GB policies, don't get an education, don't seek proper medical care, don't go to war, get cutt off from your family, relatives, all friends outside the JWs, and the GB have succeeded in killing off JWs themselves for their blood and medical policies, being tortured, persecuted, killed for the GB policies. They have no clue how to interpret the "obstaining from blood" customs in the bible, have no clue about neutrality or obeying laws in the country you reside, some things were pagan yet now are not - birthdays are still pagan, wedding rites are not. I'm sure their are a million things we could think of under this topic.

I Need A Comeback Statement
by journey-on inwhen i suggested to my jw sister that the wts has caused so much pain and division in our family, she told me it was because my brothers and i had made the choice to leave.
we were responsible for the division---not the society.
we are the ones that chose to leave the love and protective shelter of jehovah's organization and we are the ones that have the choice to return to the fold.. i need an intelligent comeback, preferably one that will plant a seed, not one too sarcastic.

Well with my JW family, it is essentially that we are polite to each other. The Society is carefully constructed and for about 100 yrs have caused divisions between families because it comes down to money.
If you are astranged from your family, the family cuts you off and your relatives will give all their hard earned money to the society so that they are assured a place in the New System. Plus, it means more money in the pot for any siblings if you are disfellowshipped and the siblings remain faithful to the men in brooklyn.
Jesus talked about division caused by loyalty to god and pure worship. Not loyalty to an earthly organization run like any other business or some pyramid scheme. Did Jesus foretell of his own earthly organization that would be worth millions of dollars? Or did Jesus not have a place to lay his head? Did he have a roof over his head? What about a highrise with a view of Manhattan?

I really like that comment about all the persecution the JWs have endured in other lands (no US persecution)? What about the persons dying on 911?
I like the comment that the persecution was not directed at JWs in particular. All those countries listed in the WA article have persecuted anyone that defies the current government leaders. Weren't the jews persecuted, catholic priests throughout England/Scotland, countless other persons dying in opposition to a leader or dictator?
I am amazed how JWs single themselves out as the sole people under constant persecution and how angels have kept the preaching work going. Yet the hordes of angels can't reach all people? Maybe their work is done. They have made the name of Jesus known worldwide, and that's it, the end of the angels purpose and mission.

This is a difficult topic, but my own experience is that JW have no empathy. Its true they take certain blood components yet do not give blood. They take charity from governmental agencies, yet do not give charity to others, only pass out JW literature, nothing more. Hopefully some JW can think for themselves and stop aligning themselves with a selfish organization that is superior to everyone and everything. JWs never see the whole picture, are not objective, showing no common decency for other human beings.

how so when we cannot even totally know another humans thoughts and plans unless they decide to share them?.
lets say we did find something...how would we even know for sure it was right and not just another guess?.

I think this relates to the topic. I have a hard time with the fact that the buddist, hindu, all the eastern religions were in existence before christianity. I remember reading somewhere that paganism existed first. God originally had no laws for humans. Demons did materialize and have children on earth, and that was the world's normal existence.
The christians "made up" stories from the pagans. Adam and Eve existed in pagan religions under different names. The flood was a natural occurence and the christians adapted the story for the bible. The fact that JWs like to bring up is that catholics made Dec 25 jesus birthday to fit a pagan custom and their original holidays. Again an example of christianity borrowing from pagan practices. Just sort of interesting theories.
I don't know how a JW would answer those theories. They have never explained why god allowed Adam and Eve to introduce sin and imperfection into the world, why he has let the human condition deteriorate. They say to vindicate Jehovahs name. Hmmm.

I can relate to this post. My regret is that I didn't have the courage to walk away a lot earlier in my life. I felt I needed the organization for some reason. I was born into the JW religion and I looked around at the family members and others so loyal and I was surrounded by child abusers, backstabbers, cheaters, liars. Finally you realize it robs you of life and you have to slowly build yourelf a new one.

I agree with the posts. Looking back on this material, and doing research outside the WA literature, it is true that the persecution was self inflicted and concocted by JW president(s). It made me feel at the time, reading the Revelation Book yrs ago, and attending the assemblies that this was all true (re the trumpet blasts) yet you look at reality, news reports, world events - they totally ignore what the JWs are doing. It just builds up the uneducated, ignored, lonely JW people into thinking they are of massive importance to the world scene. I am still amazed that they think their assemblies have actual biblical fulfillment in our modern times, and they pinpoint exact dates!! - bizarre thinking.

Arthur, I agree. Pentacost would be a more accurate interpretation of the start of the last days. But i guess that does not sell the books that the WA publishes - which in fact, my family does not realize. What other publishing company forces "members" to go door to door to sell their books?? No wonder the society bans study of any materials other than their own. They completely ignore written human history found in countless books that fill libraries. Are all those books wrong, and WA material correct?
The world "peaceful" prior to 1914? That Revelation Climax book is an embarassment and seems to have been written by persons with a High School education (no offense meant - I was barely able to finish High School let alone attend college - its just that there are not well-educated people at bethel and the blind sheep are following their interpretations).

Unless I missed it, I have never heard or read any real human history from the pages of the WA or from the platform.
They talk endlessly about 1914 as a mark of the last days. NO MENTION of the violent, bloody past of the entire world, as stated here in a prior post - the Vikings, Mongols, genocide against Native Americans, etc. And what about the slaughter of catholic priests during the 1700's throughout England (i will have to look up my history) - but you will never hear this from the platform at a KH.
It seems 1914 was the announcement of the first world war. It does not mean there was no violence, war, or disease on a global scale prior to that date. It makes me mental to think about this stuff! Any trying to communicate with an active JW makes me even more insane!!
