I'm quite young and live at home with my JW parents, so it's really impossible to get out of FS completely, without admitting my thoughts.
I generally do proper work most Sat Mornings now in order to get out of it, but can't do this every week, or they'd expect me to go Sundays or Evenings... They're both very zealous. I've gotten brilliant at going out on FS without doing anything though. Street work is my favourite, you can walk around for an hour and talk to nobody (Suggest you split up from your partner every now and again, so they think you're speaking to people) or go on RVs on your own, but actually just drive around for an hour.
RVs are also an excellent way to get out of first call early. Say 'I agreed to meet someone at this time, so I'm gonna be off now.' And then you're done.
It involves a lot of lying, but I've been lied to since I was born, so I don't care.

Question: If you don't believe the wts as truth why still in FS?
by hambeak ini am puzzled, i see a lot of new posts from supposedly active jw's passing out new tract and don't believe it.
i can understand still attending meetings especially if family is still involved.
why not just fade away?

How Much $$$ Did You Contribute To The Organization?
by minimus ini know of some elders that regularly gave about $500 per month towards the kingdom hall and other watchtower society interests....and you???
?

Zico
Usually gave about £10 per month to the 'Worldwide work' and £10 per month to the Cong. and then extra after resolutions and at Assemblies and Conventions. Haven't donated a penny since the Convention in June though! I doubt the Society have noticed, but at the Local Needs last month, the Secretary said the Cong was losing money, and in order to break even, we would only need to donate £1 per publisher per month, so apparently I was covering for 10 cheap publishers!

Meh... I seen a JW pioneer in town during my lunch break a few hours ago, he told me that the CO had gathered all the pioneers together for a meeting, and has organised a special campaign for them all to 'encourage' the non-pioneers to pioneer. He then proceeded to pee me off, why are they so nosey? I quit pioneering in September. He said to me 'Why did you quit pioneering? Have you thought about starting up again?' So I started off nice and said 'I just want to build a career right now in case I get a family to provide for in the future, I'll pioneer again one day, but not right now, ' (A lie, I'm never going back) And then he went on about some nonsense about with Armageddon being so close etc etc... that I shouldn't worry about that too much, and this went on for a bit, so I said I had other reasons as well, and then he pushed more as to why I wasn't pioneering anymore, until I got so angry that I told him to mind his own business, and said goodbye. This same idiot has told other Witnesses to mark me for having too much worldly association. I don't like him much. And I've decided I don't like the CO much either.

From 1 to 10, What's the JW morale right now?
by JH inif you could give a score from 1 to 10, 1 being the lowest, what do you think is the morale of the average witness right now, considering that not much that they predicted happened by now.. i would give them a 4, considering their new tract that came out recently, that might make them more optimistic that the end is closer..
-
Zico
Morale will often boost till about 7 or 8 straight after an Assembly, Convention, or other special event, but after about a week or 2 this often drops back to a 3 or 4. We've just had the CO Visit, and combined with the campaign, morale is quite high here. I met some JWs yesterday evening and they were eagerly discussing learning other languages to help the immigrants. They're also planning to do some evening Witnessing. I told them I'd get back to them...

Active JWs, hows KN37 going?
by StillGroggy inhey everybody, i had an interesting time pushing a tract that i don't believe in this weekend.
i had to develop my own method of placing it without having to talk about it, since i fear if i was confronted by someone asking "do you people think you're the only true religion", i might break down and tell the person at the door "no, i don't".
the witness at the door with me would scream in terror, and i would be insta-dfed.

Have you ever tried pressing the doorbell button but not pushing it in? i.e. so to your partner it appears as if you've rung the bell, but it doesn't ring and you hope the householders don't hear you.
Obviously can't work on every door, one door I did on Saturday had a dog, so they heard me, and I offered them the tract, but they just said thanks and accepted it, and hopefully (likely) threw it promptly away. I won't be going out for at least the next 2 weeks now though, so hoping to skip the rest of the campaign! Edit: Most reports from within the KH suggest that most houses are accepting it, probably because of how quick and simple the presentations are. -

Brazilian Grand Prix
by Zico inanyone watching this today?
alonso's in a good position today, starting in 4th place, with schumacher dropping to 10th due to an engine failure in qualifying.
schumacher has to win and hope alonso retires or finishes outside the top 8 in order to win, which is unlikely, he'll be retiring after this race.

I'll be rooting for Alonso! I've never liked Schumacher, since he's not... a very ethical sportsman, so I generally support whoever his biggest rival is! That, and I own a Renault car.
With Alonso switching to McLaren next year, and Schumacher retiring, that will make next year a bit less exciting for me, I guess I'll give my support to Button since he's the top British driver! I'm hoping to get to a few next year as well, since I have a bit more money now that I've quit pioneering! -

154 for the Public Talk today!
He is actually a good speaker, and he uses good illustrations, but when you break down his talks they basically amount to the same things we hear all the time. 'The end is near, so we really need to do more.'
He really bashed higher education for a bit in his public talk as well. 'The only higher education we need, is a bible education.' - What does that even mean? And his final talk, after the shortened Watchtower, was about how parents can encourage their children as they get older.
I know that both of his sons are 'serving full time' one in Bethel, and one a missionary somewhere in Africa, so he's clearly a firm believer in pushing the kids to give their all to the Watchtower God. Sad. -

There were 140 there for the book study and following CO talk tonight! I was quite impressed, there've been people there this week who I haven't seen in months. That CO must be pretty special. Though I don't really see it, he just tells us to do more since we are 'so, so close' Nothing I haven't heard before...?
Still, I guess we're 2 days closer to when he said it on Tuesday!
