Candidlynuts, this is your lucky day. Uh-oh, Satan is the God of Good Luck. Sorry about that.
Google has the ability to show a list of all pages from a certain site. When I first used this functionality on Watchtower.org, I got around 95,000 results! I realized I was getting a result for each chapter of their online NWT. So there's a way of excluding all those, which I did, and strangely enough I still got around 92,500 results from watchtower.org. Then I realized that I was getting hits from all the languages they have on there--there are a bunch of those, too. Again, Google has a way of excluding other languages than English (though it's not perfect and still gets some non-english pages.) Even with THIS option turned on, there are still ~16,100 pages. Watchtower.org is a massive, gigantic web site, larger than I ever expected.
Here is the link for the above search: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=lang_en&safe=off&as_qdr=all&q=+-%22Online+Bible%22+site%3Awatchtower.org&btnG=Search&lr=lang_en .
Now, one last thing: you can do a keyword search of Watchtower.org using Google, too. To do this, just go to Google, paste "site:watchtower.org" into the search box, they type a space, then your search term. Here's an example link: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&safe=off&as_qdr=all&q=site%3Awatchtower.org+masturbation&btnG=Search.

crazycate: regarding millions now living may never die...
by candidlynuts ini've been looking for the past hour for the quotes where recently publications say " may " never die instead of " will" never die..but so far i haven't found them.
they were either here on this site or on one of the other forums.. i dont have the watchtower cd's to look it up directly, maybe someone else will help us out.. i'll keep looking though.
i seen it as a quote online and then looked it up in the orignal article at my dads.. i dont know why but i think one was in the revelation climax book.

There doesn't seem to be a coverup. Here is an excerpt from the Proclaimers book:
*** jv p. 719 Noteworthy Events in the Modern-day History of Jehovah’s Witnesses ***
1918 The discourse “The World Has Ended—Millions Now Living May Never Die” is first delivered, on February 24, in Los Angeles, California. On March 31, in Boston, Massachusetts, the talk is entitled “The World Has Ended—Millions Now Living Will Never Die”
I lost the formatting from the original but they even put the "will" in the second title in italics in the jv book. They're pretty up front that the original Rutherford "discourse" was "may" and then they changed it to "will" for the later speaking campaing and booklet title. -

I can attest to this. In the Pacific Northwest, all coventions prior to 2006 were held in the Tacoma Dome in Tacoma, WA. This year they are holding conventions in the Tacoma Dome and also in the Portland, OR Memorial Coliseum. No increase in that area, I can guarantee it. Just more locations. Of course I'm sure it's going to be great for people living in the Portland area, not having to drive up to Tacoma and pay for rooming.
It would be fascinating to know the reasoning behind the changes. Perhaps it's an attempt to simplify the task of various convention Rooming Departments, simplify negotiations with local lodging, etc. It would also save money for local "brothers and sisters." I have a hard time believing that it would be more profitable to hold more conventions. Logic dictates that they would make more profit by cramming as many people into one venue as possible. With less venues they get the same attendance and contributions, but have to pay less for rentals. -

Loss of Elders
by metatron inlarge numbers of jw congregations are going to be trouble long before they lose their last elder to death or resignation.. most congregations i know have at least one - and often several - elders who can barely function at all, due to illness, old age.
or just plain inability to accomplish anything.
the society seems loathe to remove these men, despite their 'elder in name only'.

It's not upbuilding! It only tears down!
by under_believer ini'm sure many will recognize the subject as a criticism frequently levelled against critical or "apostate" statements: it doesn't build up, it's not encouraging, it only tears down, it's negative.
in other words, don't listen to it, or it will harsh your mellow.. has anybody come up with a reasonably acceptable response to this criticism?
i have already heard it a couple of times in talking to various friends of mine.

Well obviously that is a good point for you and I, but it doesn't really work as a response to someone "in the truth" who raises that issue.

Most local building codes (at least in the US) require 30 year roofs. That's a red herring. It's local compliance, not lack of faith.
In any case the "no insurance" meme is still alive and well in the minds and hearts of many Witnesses. Just a couple of years ago an older (60+) elder in our hall commented during a discussion on finances that carrying a life insurance policy and saving for your retirement betrays a lack of faith in Jehovah's promises.
