To the original poster:
As much as she wants. I don't believe that someone's a) legal status or b) voluntary obligations should change how they choose to dress. My wife dresses the same now as she did before we were married, with some small adjustments for income and age.
I don't find the fact that most men find her irresistable to be a threat; she is the most faithful person I know and I have no fear that she would succumb to some loser's advances (I have WAY more to offer than any of them, anyways.) Quite the contrary: The knowledge that everyone wants her, but I have her, is a huge ego-boost.
Don't get me wrong, it's her personality I love her for and always will (see above re: faithfulness.) But I won't complain about the fact that she's easy on the eyes, either. :)

How much should a married woman show?
by greendawn indo you think a married woman should go out provocatively dressed?
some of my friends accept it some don't and one had big arguments with his wife about the issue until the time when he cunningly got her to become overweight something that spoilt her good looks.
think of it, a married woman going out wearing tight shorts showing so much leg and buttocks and a top that reveals too much breast, as if almost saying "i am going out to entice some men", should a dignified husband accept that?

Is the onus on us to understand God or vice versa?
by Spectrum ini really feel at a disadvantage here because i don't really know this god.
with my limited brain power i can only understand what i can experience around me with my five senses.
that doesn't include the spiritual world as i have no biological/neurological receptors for this.

Name the good things that Jw's have or believe....
by AK - Jeff inwe always seem to get focused on the bad - and there is plenty of it for sure - and anyone who follows my posts knows i am no wt apologist by any stretch.
but focusing on the postive is a good thing in the 'moving on' process i think too.
what do you think jw's had right?.

Whether or not individual Witnesses are free from racism in a practical sense, the ideal they preach of united cultures and races and colorblindness was very critical to my early development. I'm thankful for it.
Certainly, pacifism is an ideal I'm attracted to.
Debunking Hell is also good, though Witnesses have just as strong a carrot-and-stick mentality as your fire and brimstone revivalist, possibly even worse since they create a present Hell through disfellowshipping.
Other than that, many of the things that are bullet points on their powerpoint marketing presentation are really negatives for me. Unity? Bad. Dependent thinking? Bad. "Cleanliness?" Bad. Organization? Bad. -

If JWs get reviled at the door
by greendawn inif some jws get reviled at the door by someone who dislikes them how would you feel for them, would you identify with their position, perhaps recalling a similar experience from the past jw days, and pity them or would you say they deserve what they get, because perhaps they shun you as an ex dub.
i would rather pity them for being naive fools.
such incidents make them feel like martyrs that have the truth.

I fall into the "they deserve what they get" camp.
I felt that way even when I was preaching door to door--I couldn't help but feel more sympathy for the householder than for myself. -

The #1 preoccupation is sex. JW's think about sex more than any other group of people in the world. Except for people in the porn industry I guess. :)

Well, on June 26, the day after my original post, it hit 104 at our house. Totally ridiculous. We finally had to leave and spend the rest of the afternoon and evening in Lloyd Center. On the plus side, though, it meant my wife didn't have any way to drag us to the Book Study.

How many times does "Jehovah" spuriously appear in the NT?
by AuldSoul inwe've all heard it, i'm sure.
"well, the nwt has restored the name jehovah where it should have been to start with.
" ever wanted to slap that smugness with an unarguable fact?

What amuses me is how few Witnesses, including elders, even realize that this was done to the NWT. I have asserted this fact on a couple of occasions and been questioned on it by elders, at which point I direct them to the Divine Name brochure which freely admits this practice.
