I would estimate it's been about 50/50. Like many other posters here, I have known a dramatically large proportion of sickly, obviously depressed CO's wives with special food requirements. Fifty percent? How far outside the population average is that? And it's hard to blame them. I think that life would drive most insane.

Ever met a CO's wife who was healthy and happy?
by Nellie ini just read another topic about cos and it got me thinking .
almost every single co's wife was sick and terribly unhappy.
i remember listening to them complain about not having a home, not having children, the accomodations of the friends, etc.

Ask a Question you didn't dare ask an elder because of fear of being DF'd?
by JH inonce a person is baptized, you can't ask the questions you may have asked prior to your baptism.. but probably after your baptism, there were things you'd have like to tell or ask the elders, but this could have meant that you had doubts.. what would you have said to an elder or asked him if it wasn't for the fear of getting reproved or df'd?.

Do you really believe you are a "glorious one?"
How easy is it for you to sit on judicial committees when you know what Romans 2:1-3 says?
Matthew 23:1-12 seems to call into question your entire existence. What dishonest way have you found to interpret that scripture that allows you to function on a daily basis?

Maybe There's a Heaven...
by LittleToe ini don't often open up discussions on my beliefs or experiences in life, but i feel a need, so please excuse me if you feel it untoward.
neither is this a poxy swan-song, i'm just opening up my heart a little.. today i had cause to reflect on a conversation i had with my [now ex-]wife shortly after my epithany.
everything was so new and unknown.

I am really glad everything's working out for you, LT. You will always have my respect because of the manner of your exit.
I neither understand nor desire your subsequent experiences (I suspect those two feelings are related.) Congratulations on your happiness, I envy you it. -

did i miss it?
was there some special announcement?

The tract was most assuredly the big announcement. The big new fact the Witnesses are preaching is "False Religion's End is Near."
It's so exciting. -

Possibly overdone topic - panda world
by XU inwhat did you think you would be doing in the paradise?
like after all the garbage was picked up and the 2nd dead were buried?
i thought i would get a house with a creek running through it and play with animals.

When I still believed, I thought it would be a lot different than anyone thought. Since I was a child I always scoffed at the Society's paradise artwork. I believed there would still be pain, and probably regret and sadness. I believed it would be a lot of hard work, and not terribly different than the world already was, only no death or sickness or crime or strife or fighting. I kind of just pictured small town America.

Intelligent design redux
by ackack inin a thread about id, it got a little bit off-track discussing id theories.. essentially, i'm sure there are those here you are proponents of id, and perhaps, you could lets us in on what is considered proof for and intelligent designer.
i think i've heard a few of the lines of evidence id proponents use, but i'm always open to hearing other lines, or even if someone feels they have a genuinely test that could demonstrate (or not) the plausibility of id.. ackack.

Please share this inspiring story with everyone you know.
by under_believer inpeople have been posting "encouraging" stories from their witness mailing lists lately.
i thought i'd share one i encountered, too.
many years ago, a new family moved into our neighborhood, little six-year-old emma and her mom and dad.

Sunspot, I'm confused.
Can you tell me why one would have to believe in God or Jesus' sacrifice to have the moral right to be angry that their loved one was molested by someone the elders could have prevented from acting again, or died for lack of a blood transfusion, or killed themselves after they were disfellowshipped? -

proplog2, nobody really knows exactly how that fits in yet. Ostensibly we are being led to believe that our motley crew is supposed to stop that bomb from exploding, but I suspect the plot is probably more complicated than that and there is more to it than meets the eye.
