  I don't know if JWDaughter's statement qualifies. You need to think about what she actually meant rather than taking the statement literally. She's not saying "I'm mentally unable to make myself believe that it was a conspiracy even though I have compelling evidence to the contrary." She is saying "It is such a ridiculous notion that I can't bring myself to consider it as a possibility."
  
  That's not cognitive dissonance, that's logic.

  Anyways--I wasn't saying that the whole forum membership should act in a way acceptable to doubting Witnesses. What I was trying to say is that it helps those people to see debate and dissent--not ALL exJWs are evil devil worshiping apostate astrology believers.

  If some doubting Witness comes on here and sees a bunch of people fawning over astrology (something they've been taught to view as demonized), what are they going to do? They're going to run for the hills. All of that the WTS has told them about the internet will be instantly confirmed. Put that together with the facts that astrology is a bunch of hooey, and that this is a forum with a strong slant towards debate, and I don't think that the reaction here was that out of line.
