I wish I knew how many Witnesses really "fudged" their field service reports, or how many secretaries or various ranks of Overseers did this. It would be really interesting to know.
Back when I still turned in time, I never, ever fudged. Honest. ;)

with my current job i look after a team of commission based sales people (about 400 so i dont know them all intimately).
one of these sales people in a remote town started cheating the company by applying staff discounts to people who werent staff and trying to claim promotional benefits for promotions he didnt do etc.

The tale of two(x2) sisters and the Around the World Tour

i would like to say something nice about each one.. starting with lois & marie...(lois vandoren & marie salyer for those old enough to remember).
lois & marie were probably the most kind and faithful jw ladies i have ever met.

james_woods, thanks so much for this. Perhaps many of us can remember dear old ones such as these that we knew well while we were "in the truth..." It's people like that that keep it from being all bad memories. I know I was acquainted with many dear loving friends like these.
The Society often tries to point at such friendships and "brotherly love" as being proof of their being inspired, and it breaks my heart to see honest human love and friendship being co-opted for essentially political means.
In any case I hope everyone remembers that Witnesses are humans, too, and that it's the wicked Witness system they're caught up in that really twists them into evil, not the other way around.

Things JW's Say: "In the New Order, I will <insert activity here>."
by under_believer inone of the most notorious things that jw's like to talk about are their expectations for the new order.
they talk about what things will be like, the kind of activities they'll enjoy, how resurrection will work, what the "worldwide cleanup work" will entail, which houses they'll appropriate, how they'll finally be able to have the kids they've put off, and so on.
here are some of the things i've heard witnesses say about the new order: they would personally explore the moons of jupiter for possible human colonization they would eat meat, since isaiah talks about "well oiled dishes filled with marrow" they would travel the world they would learn to play the piano they would research the "other scrolls that would be opened" they would play football (but not tackle football) they would have bible studies with newly resurrected ones they would speak hebrew (it's the language god gave adam and eve, you know, and we'll all have one language in the new order...) they would literally never feel any pain sensations ever again, even if they banged their elbow.

One also wonders why the crows will still be eating meat, when all the other animals will eat straw just like the bull. Maybe carrion-eaters get a pass for a while until everything is all cleaned up, then they will start eating straw too.

make sure that you notify the courts of the sign being posted.

Lots of Bethelites Not Happy With Downsizing
by Seeker4 ini had a long conversation last night with an old jw friend whose sister and brother-in-law are bethelites since the 1970s.
she is an artist, and he runs a small but important department there.. we were talking about the bethel downsizing (my friend was well aware of it), and i told him i figured his sister and b-i-l would be safe due to the fact that they are now in their 60s and have something close to 4 decades seniority.
but he said no, that they were worried that they would be asked to leave as well, sent into the circuit work or as special pioneers sent where the "need is great.".

Anitar, incorrect on a couple of points. They did force the resignation of one Governing Body member, Ray Franz. His story is told in the excellent book Crisis of Conscience. I recommend it, it's really a great read. Also, there are now at least four GB members who are not in their 90's.

james_woods, you know, I never realized it, but that is EXACTLY what it is like. I guess my subconscious drove my choice of words, there. I really am sitting there overhearing everything, but not really present and certainly not participating. I even stopped helping my kids to "find comments."
