  namely, general corruption and rot.. many years ago, it was not unknown to find strange photos and other materials in a bethel brother's room, after he died unexpectedly.. that doesn't prove that there is a massive problem with child molestation.

  Maybe I have missed something, but I have not heard anyone say this Cano case or another one will bring down the WTS. So far everyone believes it will hurt the WTS and might force them to change policy.

  If the public exposure wasn’t so effective the WT wouldn’t care much about it, however the WT does and very much so. We should do our best in uncovering the truth. Even if only one person is helped, it is worth it.

  We are greatly interested in the development of this case and the majority, if not all, are balanced in their expectations.

  The r&f mindset of the average Catholic is completely different from the r&f mindset of the average JW. Most Catholics, unlike most JWs, have no problem acknowledging that their religion has flaws.

  Homosexuals are definitely not equal to criminals and the like, whereas the bible does make them equally undeserving to inherit God’s kingdom (1 Corinthians 6:9, 10). Since JW claim to follow the bible and condemn homosexuals just the same, it is just as scandalous to find them at bethel. And it is known to many of us that there are lots of homosexuals at bethel.

  Since the Cano case has become public it will be used as an example that evildoers will austerely be put out of the organisation and not covered up. The WT will be as alert as ever to prevent future scandals.

  Many secrets of the WTS have been exposed already and there is surly more to come. So far the WTS has been very cooperative with the authority’s investigation in this case and welcomed it (officially). What will the further investigation expose? Was Cano alone in this? Who knows? Will the dissatisfaction of top members or enmities between them boost more scandals? I believe it is the tip of the iceberg and the higher you go the worse it gets. In the future education and ‘new light’ will clash more fully. The multitude of scandals like these (which they cannot deny) will make a difference. Let’s see how this one develops.

  i see the excitement and thrill when a jw gets nailed for pedophilia.

  i'm happy when any of these creeps get caught.

  but i just don't think that this is what will bring down the organization.

  The WT’s downfall has been prophesied since its beginning. Why should a paedophile issue bring it down today? Individuals like us will have a fall out with the WT. The exposure of issues may add to the force to change policy. I want to save children from becoming silenced victims and not make the WT fall. Although I would love to see it happen.

  let me first state that i'm not fully impressed with this mans presentation to the witness and that it would be far from effective if used on any hard core jw.

  with that said i think that the actions of this witness girl are quite telling.

  I think the Christian guy was at an advantage (just like when JW go doortodoor), he was well prepared and had others supporting him, he purposely spoke very fast and didn’t give her much time to think, and don’t forget the camera in her face. This video doesn’t discredit JW in any way. To me those using tactics like these makes them all the same. So much to “pinpointevangelism”!
