  I NEED AN AWAKE PRE 95

  i need to show a family member what the awake used to say before the generation change.

  they dont believe me and for some reason i dont have one !!

  i need to show them the actual mag.. i live in europe, so if anyone wants to post one to me, can they pm me and i will give you my address.

  I think that was said in the Awake! not wt. They changed it in '95 when the "new light" came out about the "generation".

  i know a lot of brits, aussies, canadians, etc, always marvel at the arrogance, haughtiness, and cockiness of us tourists visiting their countries.

  or how mainstream us citizens just fall in line with anything that comes out of the government's mouth, accept any policy as "good", believe all that stuff about how "america is the greatest nation on earth!"..

  how it gets ingrained into the being of most us citizens?.

  "Taking the lead in the Congregation"

  the po talked about "obeying those who take the lead" one too many times last night so i point-blank asked him who was the leader of christianity during biblical times.

  i couldn't get him to say "jesus" which is of course the correct answer, so i had to answer for him.

  i then added that he would have had assistance from the apostles making them de facto "leaders" as well.

  it takes place at bristol assembly hall.

  from what i recall seating capacity is about 1200. .

  a letter has been prepared by anonymous brothers to be sent to bodies of elders around the world.. of course this is a massive undertaking and we are asking for assistance from active and inactive ones around the world who share the sentiments of the letters contents.. your participation in this action indicates your sincere desire to see change within the organization that has become authoritarian in recent years.. we ask that the letter be addressed to "the body of elders" in each respective congregation.. please do not add any further information or commentary.. we are also relying on non-english speaking brothers to translate and distribute this letter.. it will not matter if more than one letter is received by each congregation.

  Nice letter! Thanks...

  I'll send it to some local jws I know and the BOE. Sending it to the regular members will hopefully get them to think and ask questions. That would give the elders some more work and explaining to do, evebtually the wts also.

  Public version = Writing Department
  Insiders version = Service Department (?)

  That means I will never again get to read the insiders part..

  Seems like I have missed out on some new light. Does the wts now print two kinds of WT mags, one for insider the other for the public? What else is new?
