Disassociate the Inactive? Maybe Not.

imagine what would happen in countless congregations across the globe if the society formally announced that "so and so is no longer one of.

jehovah's witnesses" simply because they became inactive.. not only would many congregations suffer under the burden of having their younger witness demographic get "expelled" , often one by .

one, in a steady drip as they fornicate/smoke/do weed/whatever, man - but you now add a regular stream of .

My take on this is a bit different. I remember when I was still active, there was always the teaching that the safest sheep were the ones in the middle of the flock. If the gb begins to direct the elders to announce that inactive ones are da'd, my former self would say, "Wow, the end must really be near as the separating work is going on within GOD's own house!" So, if the first reaction to an announcement is a gasp, the second one would be typical of a well controlled jw, and that is, "armageddon is almost here, better increase the spiritual work and get busy and give to the society all of my personal belongings since I won't be needing them anymore."

Down here in Texas, there seems to be a lot of news coverage about people getting busted for child porn. People in city government, Police, etc. So far though, there has not been any news about religious child porn or molesters. Not sure if the topic of religion's clergy and child molestation has been overused and abused during the past several years with the catholic church so it is no longer considered that big of a story. I'll still go ahead and forward to the TV stations in Dallas, Austin, San Antonio and Houston a copy of the link and the comments from LDH's interview. Maybe they might just take it and make a story out of it.

Two Visits From Jehovah's Witnesses This Past Week

my wife and i were both on ladders painting the exposed boards of our storage shed on a weekday when a car pulled into the driveway across the street.

mr. and mrs. gomez were not at home.

like most of the homeowners in this community, they use these homes only on weekends or holidays.

Hello TMS, thanks for sharing the experience. By the way, do you notice a very different set of standards between the english and spanish cengregations. Me personally, having been to a few from Dallas to McAllen, I think they operate at a totally different level. It's like they get the same information from the society, but they add it to their own way of doing things. They would never say they go against the society, but in reality, they don't follow every letter of the law, so to speak. It was a bit refreshing after a meeting to attend a spanish function and see people laughing, dancing, eating and having a great time. And as your story relates about the handling of the brother, it doesn't surprise me at all, if all of the spanish brothers keep an eye on him between the different congregations if he should try it at another hall.

slip of the tongue of elder

this morning the speaker was late and they had to change the wachtower study with the public talk.. the young elder introducing this, was maybe a bit nervous of this happening (although it is certainly not the first time this year), and told that the public intercourse of the wachttower study would be held first, instead of the public discourse.

Unfortunately, this is a sad situation. But as for letting the courts decide, that may not be the wise choice as we have all seen where justice was never really delivered. Court cases are mostly about acting and what the lawyers want the jury, people, judge to be lead to. Only GOD knows the heart and can act with righteousness, not man.

With that said, we as humans tend to protect the life of a child as they really do not have the experience to do it themselves. Some of us have seen and experienced the horrors of evil people and want to lash out and punish the evil doers, while others want to turn the other cheek and allow their garment to be taken and pray for the sinner, and everything in between.

We do the best we can with what we have and hope and pray that GOD helps us sooner or later. Having faith is about all we can do outside of taking matters into our own hands and possibly making things worse, or making things better.

My mom is stepping up her not-so-subtle mind games with kids.

my mom and her new husband (robo-elder with gb connections) have been trying to undermine us as parents so i have been on the offensive stopping it.

we recently left to another state to get away from the jws.

she has been sending letters to my oldest daughter about the assembly.

Sometimes, it takes a firmer hand, sometimes it takes an underhand, but which ever method it is, you must find one that works, or maybe a combination. For example, you could start sending her tracts on how the witnesses have lied to the people. There are several good ones to choose from. Or you could take newspaper clippings about JW pedophiles or court cases where the wtbts has been involved where they really shouldn't, etc etc. You could even send her pictures of your children having a wonderful time at a party or other venue. To show her that your children are not missing out on life just because they don't believe what your parents believe. The list goes on. Since you know them best, you would know if any of these suggestions would have any effect.

what i would like to know is if anyone has gone through a similar situation and how they dealt with it or are dealing with it.

it seems to me that the more people i talk to and learn about, it opens my eyes to different ways of looking at something and sometimes a light bulb goes off in my brain and says, wow!, i never thought if it that way before but it could be really effective for me.. oh, i guess i could give you the link,
