  Do You Know Any “Gay” Jehovah’s Witnesses?

  of course the religion condemns homosexuality but did you know any gay witnesses?

  i knew some bethelites that were very effeminate and i remember 4 women who were suspected of being lesbians by many in the congregation.

  they eventually moved away and were very vocal against males, especially elders..

  I read a lot of scepptic reactions.
  
  Would you expect a gorvernment minsister of The Netherlands know whats going around the rest of the world in relation to sexual abuse in the Witness comunity?
  
  This is just a start!. I am the chairman of the Reclaimed Voices foundation and we will certainly be heatd by the minister. In this hearing we will refer to the ARC reports.
  
  Government officials are not trained to see the double speech of the Wachtower society, so there is a task for us here.

  Minister Dekker: Jehovah's Witnesses must review abuse policy
  
  In order to protect children better against abuse, the Jehovah's Witnesses must look back on Catholics, according to Minister Dekker. But abuse victims think that this approach will not work.

  Minister Sander Dekker for Legal Protection wants the Jehovah's Witnesses to conduct an independent investigation of sexual abuse within the community, just like the Catholic Church. This is stated in a letter he sent this week to the Parliamentary Committee for Justice and Security. In July, he asked for a reaction to the 'worrisome messages' in Trouw about the way in which the religious organization handles abuse.
  

  Research from this newspaper showed that the internal legal system that the religious organization uses, protects children poorly and ensures that perpetrators often go free. Last month, the Jehova board of the ministry had a meeting to discuss what measures they are taking to prevent this.
  

  The minister advised the administration to 'study and, where possible, take the measures of the Catholic Church against sexual abuse'. He points to the important contribution of the independent investigation by the Deetman Commission, set up by the church itself.

  Michel van Hilten, spokesperson for the Jehovah's Witnesses, does not want to say whether such research will come about because discussions with the ministry are still ongoing. "We are going to study the measures of the Catholic Church," says Van Hilten. According to him, the board, based in Emmen, has already taken 'a great deal' of measures 'in line with what other organizations do'.
  

  When asked what that means in practice, he says: "You can think of things like monitoring and following perpetrators of child abuse." The Jehovah's Witnesses are a Christian society with some 30,000 supporters in the Netherlands, who frequently visit the doors go and proclaim their faith in Jehovah on the street.
  

  Dekker's desk
  

  The newly established Reclaimed Voices foundation, which defends abuse victims within the Jehovah's Witnesses, is pleased that 'the problem now lies on the minister's desk', says co-founder and abuse victim Frank Huiting. According to the foundation the measures of the Catholic Church 'do not cover what happens within the witness' community.
  

  Huiting: "The measures are aimed at officials, but the problem with the witnesses is larger than that; it is about the way in which abuse is dealt with through an internal legal system." The letter from the minister revolves around prevention of abuse, he notes. "That's important, but what happens to the suffering that has already happened?"
  

  Reclaimed Voices wants to discuss this with both the minister and the Jehovah's Witnesses. The jehovah's Witnesses' board earlier indicated that they were prepared to do so.This conversation has not yet taken place, despite insistence, according to Huiting. Spokesman Van Hilten indicates that the Jehovah's Witnesses want to wait for the follow-up discussion at the ministry.
  

  Incidentally, the question is whether the administration in the Netherlands can change anything about the abuse policy. That is the same internationally and is determined by the head office in New York. Minister Dekker does not yet know what he will do if the board refuses to take over the measures of the Catholic Church. "We are not going to anticipate this", according to his spokesman.

  Charles T Russell -a freemason and the connection to the illuminati...

  ok, i'm not one for conspiracy theories but lately i've uncovered some interesting facts that i think warrant some attention.. first of all, russell was a freemason.

  all the early watchtower and books he authored have freemason symbology and art throughout them.

  not a big deal i thought, until i read more about freemasons and the so-called "illuminati", a group of 13 families that supposedly control the world.. supposedly these 13 families, such as the duponts, mcdonalds, kennedys, .

  Except from interpration from symbology (primadoly, winges sundisk, etc) en wrongly intepreted citations from Russell's wrtitings, Fritz Springmeier en Robin de Ruiter claim they are supported by sources from the 20s and 30s. These sources are used without critical use and it is shown that these Sources all have an anti-Semitic impact. The accusation that Russell would be a freemason can be redirected to the accusations against Bible Students in Germany in the 1920s and 1930s.
  
  In 1905, a scripture was published in Russia, which we now know as the Protocols of the Elders of Zion. This scripture was a forgery. It had to show that there was a plot between the Jews and the freemasons to overthrow the existing order and establish a New World Order. In Russia this writing was used to justify the Pogroms. After the World War I, these protocols ended in Germany and in 1920 they were translated into German by Gottfried zur Beek (a pseudonym for Ludwig Müller von Hausen). The German translation contained a commentary thtat was not in the original Russian Protocols. This commentary states that the Bible Students are committed to the Jewish World Empire. Reference is made to Studies in the Scriptures of Russell.
  
  Since the publication of the German translation of the Protocols, the accusation are made against the Bible Students. They are called followers of Jews and Freemasons. In Switzerland they are accused being funded by freemasons.
  
  

  The Protocols are the most influential anti-Semitic writing of the 20th century. This writing eventually served as justification for the Holocaust (Hitler refers to the Protocols in Mein Kampf). Several times it has been scientifically demonstrated that the Protocols are a fake. It is therefore amazing that this writing still has so much influence. The writings are an important source of anti-Semitism in the Arab world.

  The protocols are also read by conspiracy theorists.
  
  Robin de Ruiter believes that the protocols are written by the Illuminati. According to De Ruiter the Protocols are proof that there would be a conspiracy by the Illuminati/the Elite /the Satanic bloodlines/ Jewish bankers like the Rothschild family.

  De Ruiter uses anti-Semitic writings. He uses these writings to accuse Russell, and to support his conspiracy theory.

  Someone, who uses anti-Semitic writings that were clearly meant to discredit Bible Student, cannot be a reliable source.

  Last weekend, Trouw, a Dutch newspaper, published several articles on sexual abuse within the Jehovah's Witnesses organization. This church organization attempts to resolve abuse internally without going to the police or courts.

  So therefore I made this petition to ask the Dutch parliament to start an investigation. (According to Ducth’ law 40.000 signatures are recquired for having a discussion in parliament).

  Observe

  That sexual abuse is not adequately addressed by the Jehovah's Witnesses organization whereby perpetrators go unpunished, victims are denied justice and little action is taken to protect children from offenders.

  And request

  To start an investigation into the abuse within the Jehovah's Witnesses organization whereas:
  1. The religious freedom of individuals is respected
  2. This religious freedom should not be used as a means of denying justice to victims
  3. The Watchtower Society discloses matters over handling of sexual abuse within its ranks
  4. The safety of children should go beyond the organization's interests

  i've been watching the new dvd and it is a bull fest about russell.

  i haven't even gotten half way and they already excluded one very important bit of information.

  you'll recall that russell "lost" his faith and "turning away from church creeds and searching for truth, russell examined some leading oriental religions, only to find these unsatisfying".
