Actaully..the tone of some publications does indeed come across..almost childish...I think the questions at the bottom of each page almost belittles any intelligence that I might have.

Please don't take offence at this ...
by Joe Grundy ini'm not a jw, never have been, and in no danger of becoming one.. having read several of the wt mags and publications (and many more extracts on this and other sites) they come across to me as being very patronising in tone and full of pseudo-scholarship, misquoted (or unnamed) sources, references taken out of context, mis-translations, etc.
i'm aware of jw 'teaching' on the subject of higher education for its members (i.e.
not a good or necessary thing) so i can understand why many jws raised in it may not challenge the publications.

LOL...looking_glass..Am I you?...Am I your alter ego...Maybe I need to take a long hard look at my self in the looking glass...erm!...sorry...Mirror.
I think dido has hit the nail on the head...the JW religion appeals to thos that are down and drepessed maybe suffering from the death of a loved one...so the talk about a new system and and edn of a wicked system and the chance of see dead loved ones again put on an earth with no hate a paradise just sounds so wonderful, and also the first time you go to a meeting you will feel wanted and everyone seems so friendly and loving...It really does act like a trap. I am sure that a lot people that came into 'The Truth' and not born in to it came into it that way. It was one of the things that appealed to me at first.

There are a lot of clever people among the JW's. I read once an article about a Biologist (I think he was a biologist) that became a JW. He became interested in the possiblity of a God through his research.
I actually do know of JW's that went to university and have degrees and PHDs...etc.
I think we oaught to be careful and not say things like JW's are stupid and uneducated. They are just mislead...we have all been mislead and sometime in our lives.

Blimey! the're ummmm! a bit errrrrr! insane. Don't you think? I wonder if the site was started by an ex-JW? I know some ex-JW's do try and start up their own religion.
Who is this 'Bibleman' geezer that has been mention in the posts? I've never heard of him.
Anyway the 'Lords Witnesses' seem more crazy that the WTBTS...with out doubt...they are a cult

In the defence of JW's....those two are not JW's...In fact I think it might just be a set up

Baptismal date, do you remember?
by Jourles inyesterday was my 15th year anniversary of being baptized.
may 11, 1991. i'm not sure it counts anymore since i was df'd last feb. 3, 2005, but still, it is a remarkable period of time to pass by and reflect on what changes have occurred.. i was 18 years old.
the "internet" was barely a blip.

I was baptised on November 11th 1989 at Hayesbridge assembly hall, Surrey, England, UK. I even had an interview on the platform to tell everyone about the thousands of pounds worth of 'demonic' stuff I destoried so I could make steps tor progess in the Truth and towards baptism. I sat along side another 3. One more brother and two sisters and the elder sat down and interviewed us. We had to pratice the week before in the 'second school' room area at the KH

Disgusting.....this man should get life and be castrated.
But I am afraid that Dr. Jekylll is right...The WTS will claim he was not a baptised JW due the fact that he worked in a Catholic School. At the very least they might just say he was just studying or had an interest but was not a JW.
When I was at school we were taught not to approach any stranger...especially those that gave promises of aweets or small toys. We even had vidoes on such subjects...even tv adverts in the 1970's...I am sure there was a 'Charlie the Cat' advert about it. with the the lines "meow meow meow meow" "Charlie says never talk to strangers"
The 'Be the Scream' is a great idea.
