Why is truth is so hard to find in Bible
by The Dragon ini have been studing it for years looking for answers....yet for every answer i find there is a counter to it.
the words themselves are twisted by leaders/teachers to fit their personal opinions and adgendas, as well as twisted by trying to rely on our own reasoning to understand them.. a good example would be the way our current system of laws work.. if the supreme court writes a law into the book..say for example.."evil" is anyone who does this....... it is then turned over to a bunch of undereducated enforcers to interpert and judge others they feel are "evil".
they are allowed to accuse and shoot first asking questions later.

If you believe the Bible is inspired by God, then you will look for a lifetime and not find an absolute truth. Better minds than yours and mine have searched for centuries and not found it.
Conclusion? Either God did not think it worth his while to give mankind clear directions about life, death, and truth. Or the Bible was not written by God, but by men.
The second conclusion makes more sense and will save you years of fruitless seeking. -

Call FS work "door-knocking," as in, "How did your door-knocking go today. Did you have good luck?"

Tour de France winner bucked his religion
by MegaDude inlandis' mennonite hometown celebrates'we are disappointed with the lifestyle he lives, but i love him,' one says.
farmersville, pa. - as floyd landis crossed the tour de france finish line sunday, his devout mennonite parents were riding their own bicycles home from church.. paul and arlene landis were so confident their son would win the cyclings greatest race they didnt have to choose between going to church and watching it on tv at a neighbors house.. im glad we didnt have to make that choice.
church is very important to us, arlene landis said.

***So it is obvious that they do not participate in shunning...even though he chose to leave his religion.***
Like the JWs, some take it more seriously than others. The Old Order Amish do the shunning bit big time. And it looks like they're have trouble with their children too. From time to time, the local news carries stories about Amish teenagers and young adults getting arrested for drug dealing and car theft.

I live in Lancaster County, about 20 miles from Ephrata, where Landis' parents live. The three biggies in religion here are Amish, Mennonite, and Church of the Brethren. They don't shun with the intensity of JWs, but it's a big thing to them if someone leaves their religion. This area isn't called the Mini-Bible Belt for nothing.

if an atheist does something good...
by DannyBloem in.
if an atheist leads good life with high moral standards, because he choice to do so and thinks for logic it is a good thing, does it not mean much more then when a theist does the same, because his gods tells him to do it?
what's your thoughs on this?

***Think of a world with no moral law...***
I can think of many instances where the world was without a moral law:
The Israelites' numerous massacres of whole nations, including women and children.
The Crusades
The Inquisition
The too-many-to-count European religious wars and pogroms
The wholesale massacre of Native Americans by white Christians
The WTC and the Pentagon attacks
The current war in the Mideast
If atheists believe in "survival of the fittest" (and that's an uninformed slur against atheists), then believers in the Bible and the Koran must believe in "survival of the fittest religion."
Please educate yourself about atheists before embarrassing yourself in a public forum again. -

80% of Near Death Experiencers Can't Wear Watches...
by FMZ ini have had about 5 digital watches since my nde when i was young.
every single one of them reset itself regularly.
2 of them i gave away because of the problems i had, and their new owners (my father and brother) never had a problem with the watches since..

So many stat problems with this. What is an "informal" study? Anecdotal responses are not dependable enough and 27 people are too small a number to be a representative sample of the entire NDE population.
You need a double-blind study with much larger numbers of NDE people and a "normal" control group before you can say with some assurance that NDE people can't wear watches. -

Who would it mean more to? As long as someone is doing his best to live a "good" life, the motives don't really matter.
