  Studying the 'deep' books - it might be the final straw.

  i can remember studying the isaiah books 1 & 2 back-to-back.

  during this time i simply never wanted to go to the book study.

  it was all so repetative and boring.

  reading this scripture was important to my original willingness a couple of years ago to reconsider my religion.... john said to him: teacher, we saw a certain man expelling demons by the use of your name and we tried to prevent him, because he was not accompanying us.

  39 but jesus said: do not try to prevent him, for there is no one that will do a powerful work on the basis of my name that will quickly be able to revile me; 40 for he that is not against us is for us.

  HOW WOULD A WITNESS ANSWER THIS?

  ok, i responded on another thread about a blood issue, but i suddenly thought of a new point of view that, as far as i know, hasn't been touched on yet (i apologize if it has been) and i wanted to get your opinion.

  as we all know, the governing body refuses blood transfusions based on the scriptures that talk about pouring the blood of a dead animal "out on the ground" because the life is in the blood, yada, yada yada.

  they have stated openly that there is no difference between eating the blood of a dead animal, and taking blood from a live human, even to save a life.

  That scripture always bothered me. Must have bothered some other people too, since it was never cited in any of lit. Like the scripture in Acts that talks about Peters angel.

  This is the way I would answer your question, provided that I understand it correctly.

  The reason that Christians cannot practice cannibalism is, after the flood, Noah was given the ANIMALS, properly drained of blood, to serve as food for him, not humans.

  Ever let off a bomb inside a thread and never even realized it?

  with all the threads, all the responses and comments, it is nearly impossible sometimes to follow-up on everything you read or write.

  more then ever, if threads get real large, you have a hard time figuring out who is responding to whom.

  so with this in mind, ever let off a bomb with one of your comments and not even follow up and until much later, not even realizing it happened?

  Sorry, need to moan and belly ache

  i normally try not to moan and belly ache here, but today i'm really down.

  the other day i was kidding and joking about being "socially-challenged", it can be fun to do this... but sometimes it catches up to me.

  i spend the vast majority of my evenings and weekends alone... movies, restaurants, community events, parties, you name it.

  Else:

  I used to be afraid of standing in a bank line, let alone doing what you do. At least you are making contact with people. The three things that did help me were:

  1. Believe it or not, the door to door work. It helped me to not be afraid to talk to strangers.

  2. A lot of reading about different subjects and current events, so I could talk to anyone about almost anything.

  3. Asking people questions and REALLY listening to their answers. People just love talking about themselves and they love it even more when you really listen to them.

  i have this habit of cutting my hair.

  the longest that i was able to let it grow was to the top of my shoulders.

  Armageddon is coming! Armageddon is coming! I've got to tell the king!

  from what has been described in recent posts, this seems to be how the r+f are reacting to the wts's push for the big a. we've got a whole convention focussed on it called "deliverance is at hand", a new book entitled "keep jehover's day in mind", a campaign to invite people to the deliverance convention, a campaign coming up in september, and they're studying the outdated revelation book in 2007.. people on this board have mentioned that some r+f members are saying that armageddon is coming within the next few hours, and even the whole bethelite layoff excuse (going into the field) promotes all of this.. but there is no date.. the wts is doing the exact same thing that they did for 1975, but they haven't mentioned any date.

  they're getting the r+f excited about armageddon talk, but there is no goal.. how long do they expect to keep this up?

  they can't keep the jws running around for too long with high expectations, or they're going to burn out.. are they preparing for the year 2014?
