17 Days: One Final Adventure

i once posted here a copy of my empassioned plea to the watchtower society--i want my mother back.

well, i just wanted to let all of you know that i got her back for a whole 17 days, and we had one final adventure together before she died, and there wasn't a damned thing they could do about it.. my mother is, was, a long-term loyal jw and i was her disfellowshipped daughter.

i believe she was in an almost constant state of conflict over me because her very strong maternal instincts demanded she behave openly and lovingly toward me, while her wts-trained conscience demanded the opposite.

some time ago i attracted some really agressive responses that surprised me because i had no intention of offending so i had to learn a lot about how to word things on this forum, smiley faces etc so others would know i was pulling their leg, but i oftened wondered if a posters nickname or avatar puts you off instantly??

you know, first impressions.

i would think someone like satanus or mouthy would be intimidating but miss peaches was as nice as pie and this thinking might reflect how i would reply.

I had a nice poster p.m. me about people we may have both known when we were in the Org. She said she was initially turned off by my name.

I never thought that would turn some off to me, but I guess it does.

Since my computer is kind of old, I can't put up an avatar. When I do I'll make sure it's nice and SCARY!!!!!!!!!!!! BOO!!!!

feel free to add on.. if you ever went to another religions funeral, and handed out watchtower publications and thought that was okay ... you might be a witness.

if you thought you were getting to old, and needed to get married as soon as possible and were only 20 ... you might be a witness.

if you remember preaching "the end is near" for over twenty years, and claim to be okay that it did not come yet ... you might be a witness.

If you sneeze, and you say nothing when someone says "God Bless You".............you might be a Witness.

If you don't go to the church service of a wedding or a funeral, but go to the reception or the cemetary for the burial.................you might be a Witness.

If you don't answer the door on Halloween...............you might be a Witness.

If you only take "sick days" at work when you are really sick...........you might be a Witness.

If you accept the Christmas Bonus at work in December..........you definitely ARE a Witness.

i was studying, had my little live forever book and my aid book and went out to california to visit my sister.

"If You Needed A Blood Transfusion Would You Take It?''

that was the question that i was asked this morning by the nurse before undergoing my procedures at the hospital.

she said, "some people can't take blood because of their religious beliefs.

i used to be a jehovah's witness and if needed i will take a blood transfusion".......now that was the first time i ever expressed those words!
