Sounds absolutely marvelous! So glad that your outlook is positive. Negativity does nothing for anyone.

feeling sooooo positive!!!
by Dudu intoday i woke up and i looked at the ocean from my apartment , is a partially clouded morning with the perfect temperature ... i am so grateful for my life, for my the continous growing of my business, for my great boyfriend, for my wordly and very supportive friends, for the wonderful and amazing nature around me... that made me realize why so many jw are depressed.
as we were taught this world is a terrible, awful place to live, we were fed by negative thinking all the time, and even when we had joyful times in our subconcience we were thinking how soon all will be destroyed.

Yes, holiday witnessing. We always did it, as it was expected and we were made to feel guilty if we didn't. Plus, my family was "worldly" and we couldn't associate with them on holidays. What I'd give to go back now and be with them.
Poor folks out there.

If I am ever tempted I just look at the news where people are growing pot in our national parks and forests. They poison the water so that wildlife won't come near the pot...they boobie trap the area in case unknowing hikers or law enforcement officials come near, cut down the trees, etc.
Thousands have been killed in Mexico and the violence is spilling over into border states like mine.
Why would I want to support the drug lords and contribute to the killings? Not to mention supporting criminals who sell to children.
No......

Stephen Hawkings and Richard Dawkins attend the Jehovah's witnesses two-day assembly program at London Edgware assembly hall

Confidential sources stated that Hawking and Dawkins were indeed viewed wandering the convention hallways; searching in vain for the famed bean burritos and lemon-lime shasta colas sold at lunch, unaware that the WTS had changed the food arrangements in the ensuing years since they last attended.

Glad everyone had a nice time.
I went to my Aunt and Uncle's house, saw my cousin, his wife, kids, and some of the wife's family. Everyone was nice, and the food was delicious. No one was a JW so there was no talk of how close the end is, or how bad worldly people are.
Refreshing.

JW Pedophile sentenced in my courtroom today....
by diana netherton in65 year old self-professed jw man sentenced to 20-40 years state for abusing a young neighbor boy.
over a course of three years.
he actually read scriptures to the boy after each abuse session, which.

After each abuse session he read scriptures to the boy....well, wasn't he following the WTS direction of taking advantage of every opportunity to witness informally? Maybe that's why the JW family felt it was O.K. to support him in the courtroom. I feel that the wife is just as guilty because she could have stopped the abuse, but covered it over.

I don't think you can have it both ways. Children cannot keep a secret, nor should they have to. I think you're going to have to make a decision and stick with it. If you try to have it both ways, you may just have misery for all.
One thing you know already-your parents are certainly very attached to your child, as they keep him during the week. I am betting that they will not want to shun you if it means they don't get to see their grandchild. It is, of course, a gamble.
I know that when we decided to celebrate, my daughter was 17. SHE bought a tree-a little spindly fake one-but all of us-daughter, I, and her dad-went together to the store and picked out ornaments and other decorations, and started our family tradition, which we add to every year. We try to find ornaments that mean something special to each of us-or just ornaments that are so darned cute we have to have them! We decorate very early, and don't take anything down until after New Year's Day.

Had a Frustrating Discussion with Mom...
by tenyearsafter inmy 80 something year old mom is a die hard jw, but to her credit, she has not shunned me.
as would be expected, she is always "praying" that i return to jah and get reinstated.
is consistent...every time my wife and i see her, she always tries to steer the conversation to "how bad the world" has become.. today, she escalated the "theocratic attack" by coming out directly and asking me what i thought of world conditions.

Your conversation does indeed sound frustrating.
I remember a sign in the school I used to work in. There was a small circle with the words, "Bang head here." It is indeed sometimes like coming up against a brick wall. I am sure that if your head hit once, you wouldn't look to do it again. Therefore, next time, just uh huh mom and go on to something else. I am sure it's because she feels that she is getting older and is desperate to see you "get right with Jehovah" before she dies.
My parents are both gone. I can guarantee you that it just happens so fast. Don't get sucked into another time killing discussion. Tell mom you must agree to disagree, then start asking questions about your family history, talk about things from when you were a child, etc., because after she's gone you'll want to ask but can't.
