I'm with Candidlynuts on this one. It sounds good in print to say that he'd like to give financial support to the family. I suppose the (non-Witness) public will believe this PR crap.

These kinds of talks always used to confuse me. He says that the scripture has already been fulfilled, then later in the talk he says it is being fulfilled. During talks such as these I would feel that I should quit my job, but then who would pay the bills, but then if the end is so near, but what if it isn't the due time yet, but he said that the things we are doing right now might determine our future, but then................
I also hate the way he says Gawwwd. Actually, I just hate to hear him, because the knot comes back in my stomach.

Do CO's discuss inactive publishers?
by Inquisitor induring his visit, what exactly does the circuit overseer discuss with the body of elders with regards to inactive publishers?.
are inactive publishers even on the agenda?
or is this of no concern to the co and pretty much left to the discretion of the local boe?.

Yes, that was first class drama. I know I should no longer be shocked by things that happen or are said from the platform, but this takes the cake!!!
The man promised to visit, then had the nerve to insinuate to the entire congregation that it was your fault that he did not.
Plus, how dare he talk about "private matters" in front of many who must have known who he was referring to.

I know I don't know all the details, but it sounds to me like your wife is an amazing woman, JW or not. I have often thought that having a family that loves you is a precious gift. Many would like to have someone who cares whether they live or die and do not. That your wife would be willing to consider staying with you is generous.
We all have inborn consciences-yours must be hurt to post this. Your family is worth fighting for. They are worth living for. Give it a try, I say.

They just keep following me!

i was helping a lady at work.
so i wasn't thinking about jw's or anything, when she leaves, she leaves me a tract, i get them all the time in my line of work so i wasn't paying attention.

Maybe she was traveling through. I used to keep magazines in my car and place them sometimes in different situations. I felt bad because they would pile up because at the doors it seemed few wanted them. Also, if you are in a place of business, you don't have to usually worry about making return visits on the people. I was always weak in this area.

The 7-7-07 date is O.K., but since last summer's conventions when they wanted everyone to get everyone else's phone numbers (The big A was imminent) people may have moved and changed numbers (We are a mobile society) and that will make them have to start again in June with the new conventions getting everyone's phone numbers again........

My Post-Cult Cathartism - Optimism

whilst it is an absolute that the years i spent in the borg were many.
at this stage of my new-life outside, i am trying to maintain a high-moral-road view of the cause/effect relationship that it had on me and my life-view.. i believe that coming to the realization that not all of witness life is evil or corrupt or even wasted, is healthier for me than a constant negative rant about what it cost me.

I'll bet you've spent many hours pondering your existence outside of the bOrg-I know I have. I am glad that you are able to view the cup as "half full" at this point in time .
My husband and I spent more than thirty years "in" and now about two out- I do not choose to be bitter but am left with so much residual confusion and at times despair. My husband is caustically bitter-he views all the years-over twenty of them as elder-as wasted. I think your outlook is healthier. I hope he can eventually come to have happiness. He deserves it-we all do.
I enjoyed this comment from Willyloman, also. Well said!!!
They were quite interested in my transition from "having answers I couldn't question" to "having questions I couldn't answer," which is a better position in my view.

ADVERTISE, ADVERTISE, ADVERTISE THE WITNESSES AND THEIR DESTRUCTION OF FROSTY!!
Whether or not you press charges, etc. Please do not overlook the value of public knowledge and embarrassment this has the potential to bring on the congregation and organization. Especially if it is done with humor. Some of the comments about damage to poor Frosty are priceless.
This could be your opportunity to shine with literary genius!!! This could show the public just how vindictive and unloving Witnesses can be. It could definetely be a way to publicize the effects of shunning and subsequent attitudes toward those who leave the WTS organization.
