So, I was disfellowshipped for an offense that was later determined not to be an offense. At first, I felt vindicated and joyful. After thinking about it longer, I began to feel more anger and resentment. They cut me off from my friends and family and my whole world and made me suffer. And they were wrong. And now they know that they were wrong. And I was right. Those elders are still around. They've never tried to contact me and reconcile this.
Chad,
So you were called to come to a meeting to discuss one thing, even asked unnecessarily voyeuristic questions, but then they began to ask deeply intimate, personal questions to you with your wife present about your sex practices. Then they df'd you when you told the truth.
This is the prime example of men that are so above others that there is no aspect of a person's life that is off limits to them. Even the contents of your thoughts. They want you to feel dirty and unworthy and unwanted.
The thing that is infuriating, of course, is that they changed the ruling on the sex practices that please God, but do they feel that you were treated unfairly? No, of course not. Too bad. Ruined your life? Oh, well, just get over it.
Glad you are now with us.
the whole objective of the wts is to print as many books and magazines and sell them house to house with free labor from its members.. looking at these other ministries, they too print as many books as possible and sell them to it's members and viewing audience.the donations they take in are in the millions.
some of these ministers are payed a huge salary and live in massive homes which have been shown on television.. my questions are: don't all religions use their members for gains in the name of god?
don't all religions own massive properties, schools, and personal properties all in the name of god?
I have never seen Joyce, I have watched Joel Osteen and seen his huge "Joel Osteen Ministries" arena. It used to be a basketball arena in Houston. My, he seems nice. But each time you watch, he just keeps saying the same things. Be positive, etc. Stays away from anything controversial. So I don't know his stance on many things.
I lived in Florida for several years. While there, there was an interesting newspaper article by a reporter who researched the Hinn ministries for quite a while. He said that, at the "service" for healing, yes, Benny was making people swoon left and right. But the interesting thing was, a woman had brought her child to be healed. This child was in a special chair, and on a respirator.
This woman unhooked the respirator and ran to the stage for the child to be healed, but was turned back by the attendants as Benny "healed" people of asthma or one leg being shorter, etc. This man is really disgusting. He rakes in millions, but if he really can heal, why not go to a hospital and do his stuff-wouldn't that be helpful?

After nearly swooning and going into the restroom to recover, I returned to my desk and began to read.
My, how this brings back memories. This seems to be a common reaction that many of us had. Oh, the disobedience of it all!! I thought that maybe demons might come out of the computer. They can really put such fear into people, can't they. The guilt, the guilt of it all.
On the other hand, once the first words are typed in, which in my case was Watchtower and Abuse, the floodgates opened and the sheer number of sites of "disgruntled" or "apostate" people is staggering!
Thanks for sharing .
ok people we need to talk.. if you put up on this forum the n word, the d word, the c word.....i don't even want to spell them out because i am not going to offend people i care about.
if you need to know send me a pm.
you know the words that trigger the gut reactions.

Thank you for this post. I am unaware of using this term; I work in a school where all children are a part; those who have difficulties have a harder time and should never be made fun of. I will be especially sensitive in the future to make sure I never use it.
so, i get the call today from my aunt, who still speaks to me, and she fills me in, and tells me the visitation is friday (i'm not going), and the funeral is saturday.
my dad told her that he wants me to "sit with the family".
i never went to pay my last respects to him or talk to him, because he was an elder forever, and i was told he wouldn't speak to me, so i never went and never sent a card, nothing.
My dad told her that he wants me to "sit with the family".
To me, this says dad would like for you to be there. I am assuming it is his father. The funeral is a time for the loved ones. The dead are gone.
I am 55 years old. Old enough to tell you that you want to have the fewest regrets to look back on when you get older. No one can tell you what you must do, but if you are asking for opinions, here is mine.
Go and sit with the family. Be as gracious as possible. Know ahead of time that some may say things about missing you, or come back, etc. For an hour or so you can deal with anything.
This you can do for your family. Even if they do nothing for you in return. Your father will appreciate it, and you will feel it even if he says nothing.
a couple fo days ago two witnesses knocked with their children, they gave me flowers and a card with the following message:.
"we want you know that we love you, and that you are in our prayers..we are thinking about you.. we remember too, and are grateful for yur support in the past, especially 6 years ago, when you came to the home, following our loss of dennis (not his real name).. in these last days, life is harder then ever.
satan is trying to break all of us, be it through health problems, the ones we love and even our brothers and sisters where it hurts the most.
I think the card sounds very sincere. Why feel that all in the congregations are phony? I wasn't. I loved the people and many times told people I missed them, etc. and meant it. I really thought that Satan was behind all the negative things happening in people's lives and that going to the meetings could fix everything.
I would thank them for their kind thoughts. I would tell them how much you thought about Dennis. Be sincere in return. Why not?
seeing as how i am the greatest being to ever grace the forums of this website, i feel no need to apologize.
if anyone's ultra sensitive demeanor has caused them to take offense regarding something i've said, well, the ultimate gain they receive from my presence will more than makeup for any offense their persons might feel because of a lack of thicker skin.
i know some might think i'm being overly generous by donating my presence to such a minute cause as discussion forums, but i've come to think of myself as a philanthropist, and this small donation fits in well with my self assessment.
Wow. All I can say is that you've come a long way since your first post:
Here's what I think. I think everyone here (including myself) feels inadequate
To what do you attribute this newfound burst of adequacy? This forum?
i'm sorry.. we've all been through alot.. .
Sad Emo,
Thank you for the "lesson" on how stone walls are made. I had no idea. And what you wrote here was beautiful.
What's my point in this - well the stones are all different, but when they come together they produce something strong without any external force to hold them together. That's what JWD is like - a whole bunch of individual 'misfits' but when we come together, it works. Sure we might meet an occasional 'rough edge' which causes us discomfort - but we might be the one to turn that rough edge into a smoother one (bring some healing?).
See what benefit we all get from other posters?
