Looks like some of us choose to leave after a Memorial service. I too left then in 2000. That was the last meeting for me. Desertflower

gambling again.... any experiences?
by surferdude inafter the recent awake dealing with gambling(still with no biblical reason not to) i still feel that gambling in moderation is fine.
i know in the "flock" book gambling is not the sin, greed is.
it also says that we should try not to see gambling for entertainment as good, however it does not come out and say "dont gamble or you will be in trouble".

In Las Vegas if you get caught or someone tells on you for gambling, you will be in the back room!!
My son-in-law loss his eldership for playing the slots. Mulan wish I knew you were here would love to
meet you. Any of you that come to Vegas there are a few of us that know each other. We do get together and visit and would love to hear from those that come down. Call and we'll get together. 702-434-0171

POSTING HERE
by Bhagavad in.
if you did not still have some kind of umbilical connection to jehovah's witnesses, you would not have to keep posting here.. i hope you all appreciate my opinion of you, as well as of simon.
there's lots of the world to be experienced out of this freaking site.

Liberated
that was a good way of putting our situation. We can tallk to all kinds of people but
only those that have been JW can really understand what we are going thru. Lot of
our new friends hate what we are going thru with our kids now, and express shock when
we tell them what the Witness believe about shunning. We were always a very close knit
family but not now because of us not believing anymore. Met some ex-jw this summer
when we were on vacation and they were so glad to have a chance to visit with some one who felt like they did and we could really visit and exchange thoughts and experinces.
My husband has been looking up old friends from his navy days. Like you said you have a connection with them. desertflower

Hi Max
I was a Methodist was the only church in our little town.
Never heard of JW until I was 19 Yrs.old. They never came to my small town in Iowa.
I got married and the man I married had JW background but the family wasn't active until later.
So I got to be a witness thru my husband, took him quite a while to get me to believe, we both wish I never had, was baptized in 1956.

Guilt by association.
by seven006 innote: i will attempt to make my attitude as well as my language in regard to this subject in compliance with simon's wishes to keep the profanity at a minimum.
for those who have read my posts before you know how hard that will be for me.. i am really mad.

Dave Yes we have been treated with the old shunning trick too. My husband and I have grandkids too and they do not have anything to do with us. We are not DF nor DA and we have never had a JC meeting with the elders. They came to our shop and talk to us one evening late. after our middle daughter told them we were on the net reading apostate material. My husband tried to share what we were learning and she turned us in to the elders. She will not have anything to do with us and her 4 kids. Been 2 1/2 yrs does not get any better with our kids and the grandkids they follow mom and dad. You really did good in holding your cool. We understand your anger we have alot of it too. We were in the Org. for 45 yr. How blind we were. Mad at our selfs for followering the Org.

If you could ask ex-JW's one question....
by SixofNine inif you could interview all ex-jw's and ask just one question about their life as a jw, or their thoughts on jw's, what would it be?
