I think that elder acted really stupid. He just showed up for "do his job" to maximise risks to die because of "gods will". Not really very loving and kind for relatives.
Still, good that your dad is ok and I hope nothing happends to him. :)

UPDATE ON MY DAD

we got my dad to the hospital where they administered the clot-busting drug and yes, it was done within the 3 hour time frame.
it was a very serious stroke but so far he has responded extremely well.

I'm already waiting my 20th birthday because I'm going to invite some friends to visit this time. :)
Of course, for me, 20th birthday is more meaningful because in Finland you can buy alcohol (less than 22%) and tobacco when you are 18, and stronger alcohol drinks when you are 20.

Little same as things what happened to me when I got married.
None of my JW relatives came to our wedding, my mom&dad came but they ran away about 10 seconds after my best friend, who got disfellowshipped some weeks before my wedding, arrived. It wasn't so hard for me, but it was harder on my wife because she could not even think that my relatives don't want to see her. Luckily she didn't get very sad and she got over it pretty quickly.... Now we have been married over 6 months and everything is still fine, not satanic influence like my parents said ;) -

they'll say that, and then they'll follow up with "my brain is washed of evil thoughts, immoral sexual impulses, independent, goatlike thinking, demonism, etc..." this is something i have heard in conversation, comments at the meeting, and from the platform in the congregation, though never at a higher level than that.

Last time I visited our district convention there was some talk about influence of this satanic world. Elder who was speaking something like this:
Most of people think that we, JW's, are insane. Really, it is not about us being insane, it is that our brains has been washed clean from souring effect of this world
and filled with clean, sweet, producive energy of Jehovah's Organization.
I just barely could not to laugh when I heard that. After that, everyone looked very happy and I could see that they were thinking: "good, we are the best people in whole world". I could see it in their eyes..

It's also nice to hear good things. I think that most of Finnish people seem older than they are.. Maybe it's something in our culture that
mental age is different than physical age ;) I took some test for that and I got 28 years mental age, even I'm just 20.That's weird...

Yea. I liked their performance. I think all other performances were too identical, Lordi was different. Of course I was really surprised to see that they won but.. well done still =)
