Preface to the Book of Genesis: Dear Reader, this is GOD. The book you are about to read is largely a work of fiction. Read it for fun. Read it for laughs. Cry if you must, but don't go killing anyone over it! You may disagree with everything it says, except for one thing: Love. Love yourself. Love your fellow man and woman. Love the elderly and the children. Love the animals. Love the land you live on so that all may dwell in peace. - GOD

Five For Fighting - "100 years"
I'm 15 for a moment
Caught in between 10 and 20
And I'm just dreaming
Counting the ways to where you are
I'm 22 for a moment
She feels better than ever
And we're on fire
Making our way back from Mars
15 there's still time for you
Time to buy and time to lose
15, there's never a wish better than this
When you only got 100 years to live
I'm 33 for a moment
Still the man, but you see I'm a they
A kid on the way
A family on my mind
I'm 45 for a moment
The sea is high
And I'm heading into a crisis
Chasing the years of my life
15 there's still time for you
Time to buy, Time to lose yourself
Within a morning star
15 I'm all right with you
15, there's never a wish better than this
When you only got 100 years to live
Half time goes by
Suddenly you’re wise
Another blink of an eye
67 is gone
The sun is getting high
We're moving on...
I'm 99 for a moment
Dying for just another moment
And I'm just dreaming
Counting the ways to where you are
15 there's still time for you
22 I feel her too
33 you’re on your way
Every day's a new day...
15 there's still time for you
Time to buy and time to choose
Hey 15, there's never a wish better than this
When you only got 100 years to live -

The Stock Market
by Warlock inthe market seems to have put in a short term bottom today, judging from all the "long tails" i see on candlesticks, plus the fact that the dow dipped under it's 200 ma, but closed just about at it.. the next move should be up, for about 500 points, and then the market should re-test todays low, however, the heathiest thing would be for the market to test it's march low of 12,000, or there abouts, just to wash everyone out.. if you are holding stock, and are worried, this should all be over by the end of october.. of course, this is what i see, but, when you deal with uncertainty everyday, anything is possible.. warlock .

When I read that the US and European governments "injected" tens of billions of dollars in order to stabilize the markets, I am left with the impression of a drug addict who's hooked on easy credit. When the market gets its "fix," it calms down for a while. When the dose wears off, the market gets the shakes again until the supplier gives it another fix. The markets are looking for a major correction and the "Plunge Protection Team" won't allow it. I wonder where the breaking point (overdose) will eventually be...

Knowing more than theology students / theologians
by DeusMauzzim ini remember i heard this some times (but not from the platform).
it would go something like: 'oh isn't it wonderful that with the help of the organization we know more about the bible than people who study theology at university?!'.
at least with theology you learn the meaning of difficult words like "biblical litteralism" .

Yes, guilty as charged. How arrogant of me.
Two words: Documentary Hypothesis (aka Higher Criticism)
When I finally came to an understanding of the scholarship behind the Documentary Hypothesis, I realized for the first time just how little I had previously understood the Bible. The WTS wrote against "Higher Criticism" without ever explaining what it was. That's their method. Present one side of the issue and use hidden premises and logical fallacies to make it seem correct. Other Fundamentalist Christian groups do the same thing, so the WTS is not alone in its faulty "scholarship."

Bee Gees - "How Deep Is Your Love"
I know your eyes in the morning sun
I feel you touch me in the pouring rain
And the moment that you wander far from me
I wanna feel you in my arms again
And you come to me on a summer breeze
Keep me warm in your love and then softly leave
And it's me you need to show ....
How deep is your love? (how deep is your love?)
I really need to learn
'Cause we're living in a world of fools
Breaking us down
When they all should let us be
We belong to you and me
I believe in you
You know the door to my very soul
You're the light in my deepest darkest hour
You're my saviour when I fall
And you may not think
I care for you
When you know down inside
That I really do
And it's me you need to show ....
How deep is your love? (how deep is your love?)
I really need to learn
'Cause we're living in a world of fools
Breaking us down
When they all should let us be
We belong to you and me
How deep is your love? (how deep is your love?)
I really need to learn
'Cause we're living in a world of fools
Breaking us down
When they all should let us be
We belong to you and me
How deep is your love? (how deep is your love?)

Eagles - "Peaceful Easy Feeling"
I like the way your sparkling earrings lay,
against your skin, it's so brown
and I wanna sleep with you
in the desert tonight
with a billion stars all around
'cause I gotta peaceful easy feeling
and I know you won't let me down
'cause I'm already standing on the ground
And I found out a long time ago
what a woman can do to your soul
Ah, but she can't take you anyway
You don't already know how to go
and I gotta peaceful, easy feeling
and I know you won't let me down
'cause I'm already standing on the ground
I get this feeling I may know you
as a lover and a friend
but this voice keeps whispering
in my other ear, tells me
I may never see you again
'cause I get a peaceful, easy feeling
and I know you won't let me down
'cause I'm already standing on the ground
'cause I'm already standing...
on the ground
oooo, oooo

Carpenters - "Goodbye To Love"
I'll say goodbye to love
No one ever cared if I should live or die
Time and time again the chance for love has passed me by
And all I know of love is how to live without it
I just can't seem to find it
So I've made my mind up I must live my life alone
And though it's not the easy way
I guess I've always known
I'd say goodbye to love
There are no tomorrows for this heart of mine
Surely time will lose these bitter memories
And I'll find that there is someone to believe in
And to live for
Something I could live for
All the years of useless search
Have finally reached an end
Loneliness and empty days will be my only friend
From this day love is forgotten
I'll go on as best I can
What lies in the future is a mystery to us all
No one can predict the wheel of fortune as it falls
There may come a time when I will see that I've been wrong
But for now this is my song
And it's goodbye to love
I'll say goodbye to love -

Have you ever read Job: A Comedy of Justice by Robert Heinlein? It kinda, sorta goes along with the points in your post. It's a good read.

The Idea of Perfection
by Cold Creek Swimmer inas i was growing up, i was raised to believe in the story of adam and eve and the garden of eden.
this, i am sure, is what the majority of us were taught as children.
along with this teaching is the idea that perfection was lost when adam and eve sinned.

Good points. The longer I am away from the brainwashing program, the more ridiculous the whole sin/redemption/perfection scenario appears to me.

NO WAY!!! Cthulhu is coming to a theater near you!!!!
by avishai inthey've adapted h.p lovecrafts cthulhu mythos into a movie!!
!

Some years back I read H P Lovecraft's horror stories. I read them on a Palm pilot during the meetings at the KH. They were far more interesting than listening to the parts at the meetings. JW mythology doesn't even make good fiction. Anyway, I rather doubt that a movie can do justice to his unique style. Then again, who knows? Could be a winner.

Earthlings(Animal Cruelty)
by frankiespeakin inearthlings is a feature length documentary about humanity's absolute dependence on animals (for pets, food, clothing, entertainment, and ...scientific research) but also illustrates our complete disrespect for these so-called "non-human providers.
" the film is narrated by academy award nominee joaquin phoenix (gladiator) and features music by the critically acclaimed platinum artist moby.
i had a hard time watching it to the end.. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-1282796533661048967&q=earthlings&total=682&start=0&num=10&so=0&type=search&plindex=0.

This was a most difficult documentary to watch.
"They are earthlings. They have the right to be here just as much as humans do."
"The systematic torture of sentient beings, whatever the pretext, and in whatever form, cannot achieve anything more than it already has, to show us what is the lowest point of debasement man can reach, if that's what we want to know."
"Isn't it enough that animals the world over live in permanent retreat from human progress and expansion? And for many species there is simply nowhere else to go. It seems the fate of many animals is either to be unwanted by man, or wanted too much."
"Human beings should love animals as the knowing love the innocent and the strong love the vulnerable. When we wince at the suffering of animals, that feeling speaks well of us, even if we ignore it. And those who dismiss love for our fellow creatures as mere sentimentality overlook a good and important part of our humanity, but it takes nothing away from a human to be kind to an animal."

What is your opinion of these experiences?
by R.F. inone thing that the jws are always proud of themselves over is the idea that they come across individuals that are low in spirits and were praying for help just as they were stopping by in the door to door magazine selling work, thus proving they have god's backing and are being led by angels.
this happened to me sometime recently.
i was out door to door and came across a man that was severly depressed.

This, in fact, is exactly what happened to my grandmother, I am told. Then, after becoming a Witness, she endured years of opposition from my grandfather. Needless to say, this is the family's official miracle. Today, now past 90 years of age, she unfortunately suffers dementia and no longer recognizes anyone. It make me sad to think about it.
