I've tried various recipes in the past, but they always bleed out of shape in the oven. I know I must be doing something wrong. Anyone have any tips?
I would love a fool proof recipe, if anyone would care to share their's."

haha! I would be furious if my cookies didn't retain their shape! I'd bite its miserable misshapen head off. Ok, so, there are only certain sorts of cookies that are supposed to be made into shapes, you know that right? Like, the gingerbread, you can do sugar cookie cutouts, ummmmm, shortbread.
Of course, I like gingerbread cutouts the best, and I think it is the best dough to do cutouts with.
Actually, there was this Betty Crocker gingerbread mix that actually tasted better than what I was making at home. I don't know if the stores still carry it. It only needed water added I think and it was really really good. The real fun in the cutouts is decorating them afterwards! I really would love to study under a gingerbread master.
The only thing I can think that you may be doing wrong is using a recipe that isn't meant for cutouts. Also, maybe since most recipes divide the flour into two additions at the beginning and the end, maybe you forget to add the remaining flour? I've done that before.
I'd check out the holiday cookies on bhg (better homes and gardens) one of the cookbooks I've used most is bhg, and most of the recipes are really good.

Dear Ken,
I am so incredibly saddened to hear that this is happening in your life. I can't imagine what you are feeling.
There is always hope though. There are many new treatments and therapies that are breaking out at a rapid pace. I just will pray for him to survive this, and be a cancer SURVIVOR for years and years to come :) Hang in there! And send him all the well wishes!

Did Jesus Christ commit a serious sin and ask Jehovah to forgive him?
by booker-t ini was talking to this girl the other day about the movie the da vinci code.
i went and saw the movie and loved it.
i had heard for years and years that some people felt that jesus had and "affair" with mary magdeline and had kids with her.

"She said that Bible translators delibrately change this passage to read like this but it should really read Father, Father, why won't you forgive me."
smellsgood: what evidence does she have? It doesn't make sense in the context whatsoever.
And if she thinks he was MARRIED to Marry then this:
"She feels that Jesus was asking Jehovah for forgiveness because he committed a sin. I was wondering should the passage read Father, Father why won't you forgive me. "
WOULDN'T make any sense either. There is no sin in marrying someone in Jewish law. So, he wouldn't be asking for forgiveness for something no one believes is a sin.
smellsgood: SadEmo is right, it is an echo of Psalm 22. Now, the biggest thing I think you don't get about this tale is that it wasn't recorded as Yeshua JUST hanging there physically, physically dying. The whole point of the story of the cross and the reason Christians will give you that he was hanging on it is because he was suffering the punishment for all men, for all their sin ON THE CROSS. So, when he cried out "Eli, Eli, Lama Sabachtani?" It means in the context of the whole story from the NT perspective, that Jesus is feeling for the first time the SEPARATION from God that sin causes. Do you see? If he were to "take on the sins of man" which in the whole bible is told what separates us from God, while hanging on the cross, then it makes sense that he would say what was written in Psalm 22. And if he were sinless, to feel the wrath from a holy god for all the sins of others would be something else wouldn't it?
It kinda clunkered along, and I reckoned that perhaps Dan Brown isn't the most creative writer?
ohhh well it was better than most movies I unfortunately have seen.
you are a very curious mind are'nt you???? ;)

OMG! LOL!
That is WAYYYYY different than what I had in mind Fe203girl!!!! I'm so glad it WAS just a cockup with regards to terminology! That is NOT what I know as a vest, but like AudeSapere said, a camisole or a tank top!!!
In that case, that would look perfectly fine under another shirt, go for it Ellie!
Ahh, the misunderstandings that happen through an international medium! That's why I said "trousers" and not "pants" because I know you Brits call underwear and not trousers "pants."
Thanks for posting and setting my mind at ease Fe203 girl!! -

OMG Mrs. Jones, it may be raunchy to you, but it is reealllly funny reading what you write about it.
I don't really know what you could do except put together a toilettery bag for him or something, or maybe just rush him when he shows up next hose him down. Poor kid! It's obviously his parents ill regard for his hygeine. He probably has no clue how filthy and horrid he smells.
I've had so many experiences with smelly people. Particularly at my school where it is in a more rural area, and um, there are them one toothed vagabond types with a whole litter of children who wallow in their own muck. The thing about it is most of these parents will smoke/drink or do both, but won't buy a 30 cent bar of soap.
In the fourth grade I had three outrageously smelly classmates. And as luck was have it, throughout the seating rotation of the year, I had the pleasure to be seated next to one or the other consistently.
One was a girl who had severe bladder problems, and though she couldn't help it, she would basically urinate on her self and her seat every single day. It was particularly foul smelling though. Beyond what other pee smells like. I had a little perfume bottle in my schoolbox that I'd spray on my finger and stick my finger against my nose. The two boys across from me always had me spray their fingers too. And they insist you take hats off because HATS are distracting!!?? I got paranoid about sitting in a puddle of urine, so I was smelling my chair at school, til I finally got one with my name on the bottom of it, because I just couldn't take it.
Then there were two boys who literally never bathed, one didn't have electricity or running water, and they smelled so awful. One of them literally lived with pigs. He had like nine brothers and sisters I think they were actually FOSTER children, and these people were allowed by the state to be foster Parents, and the younger foster girl my Mom cared for in the school. They would bathe her in the preschool, and she would start crying if she even spotted the shampoo bottle, just screaming and thrashing and throwing a fit. My mom said that dirt was literally caked on her scalp.
Anyway, one day the boy who lived with the pigs LITERALLY POOPED HIS PANTS IN CLASS!! It was soooooooo raunchy. Sticks really well in my memory. Pleasant.
It's just a shame for the kids, but parents who have their children that way would probably not care, or be highly offended I suppose for you to even mention something "don't tell me how to raise my kids" "mind your own business" or "don't tell me how to live my life."
One recommendation for your car,, get a can of Ozium :) -

ok, I had a visceral reaction to the mention of vests and now i've had some soothing tea.
Let me qualify a bit. What you've described is SHORT sleeve shirts....and I suppose they button up and down the front since you said you would wear them "open." FIRST MISTAKE! Short sleeve shirts that open are not kind to either sex in my opinion. Then wearing a VEST underneath, I cannot even fathom this.
However, SOMETIMES vests are ok. For instance, if a woman is wearing a Classic suit mirroring mens suits' tailoring, with the trousers, blazer, etc, then a well tailored fitted button up vest is appropriate and can look fetching.
A suit-style vest OVER a LONG SLEEVED OXFORD STYLE COLLARED shirt that is well tailored with trousers can ALSO look fetching.
L.L. Bean style woodsy vests that zipper up and down and people have worn OVER their shirts look idiotic IMO. I have made this fashion mistake in the past, I admit.
But, a vest top under an open SHORT SLEEVE shirt is a recipe for disaster as I am picturing it in my mind.
Now, I'm sorry to be so hard on you, but its important to me and the community around you that I fully disclose my feelings on the issue.
The very word VEST conjures firstly in my mind homemade multipattern attrocities with loud colors worn over busy strawberry patterned turtlenecks. -

VEST TOP!?!?!? NO!
No vests EVER if you're a woman,,,PLEASE!!
Of course you're english, and this could mean something completely different to you than it does to me, but you put a horrifying image in my mind of a VEST TOP under a shirt?! aggh!
Is it possible to just get a few new PROPER SHIRTS to adjust to the difference for now??? I mean, congratulations on having the baby on recently,,, makes it even a little more urgent for me to insist emphatically,,,NO VESTS! There is now a young mind that is highly influenced by its mothers choices in garments! Don't misuse that kind of power! NO VESTS!!... say it five times every morning you wake up!
I'm so glad you posted that question! I hope I've helped avert a fashion catastrophe! -

AT 1:26PM FRIDAY OUR DAUGHTER WAS BORN!!!
by Es inwell its all happend, got to the hosp early friday morning, had my waters broken at around 7:30am had to wait for an hour and a half to see if labour would begin naturally, it didnt so at 9am i was hooked up to the drip, man that was intense, put it to you this way, blakes labour was about 8 hours all up kaia's labour was 3 hours and i would rather go through the 8 hour one anyday.. it was a very short labour, kaia was born a bit shocked as it happend so fast so she was rushed up to nursery for a bit as she was purple and not breathing properly but after an hour on oxygen she was fine, me on the other hand had to be stitched up coz pushing a 9 pound 1 baby out naturally with no drugs does damage heheh, then i had to be hooked up to a drip for 4 hours as i lost a bit of blood.
but once we were all sorted it was all good.
she is doing so well we are at home now, she is beautiful and very content.
