I hated microphone duties. The worst thing about it was sister long boring answers would sit in the middle of a row, you had to bend over and stretch as she gave one of her long answers, while your arm is about to drop off. Car park was brilliant for the same reason as KW13 gave.

Kingdom Hall Duties
by KW13 ini remember even though i was young, i was 'mature' and i got the priv.
of doing microphones on certain occasions, helped the brother doing carpark e.t.c.
i used to hate mic's at our hall, they had cable attached so you were always tripping over this huge cable, or a sister would have it in her hand, then pull it, so you'd end up with this thing around your legs, basically attaching you to her.

Racism: Lyman Swingle Once Said to Me. . .
by Pioneer Spit...oh, i mean Spirit inyears ago, when i was 19 and shp (single hot pioneer), living at home of course, waitressing at denny's, just living la vida loca.
.. swingle stayed in our home for a district ass.
after the weekend and as he was saying his goodbyes, he grabbed my face and shook me back and forth and with a wide grin on his face said, "you need to come to bethel to meet some of our bethel boys, i'm tired of these colored girls coming to bethel and taking our boys home.

Swingle would've got lynched if he said words like that where I live. It doesn't surprise me. I punch a brother in the ribs , when nobody was around, in the toilets at the assembly hall because I heard racist comments. Some people in the dud religion don't change their nasty attitudes whatsoever. Makes my blood boil.

Interesting Day at work (JW refuted...er sorta).....
by Tuesday ini figured you all would enjoy listening to my expirience from work today.
a quick background, since my second day at my new job i knew one woman was a witness.
she had the peace tract pinned up to the wall of her cubicle.

Tuesday that was brilliant. lmao. Just goes to prove that duds may read the Bible, but don't understand any of it.

Were you the only JW in your family?
by karen96 insometimes i think of all the pain i caused my parents when i left their home to pursue my bible studies.
it happend right around the holidays and my father's birthday, and seemed to be such a slap in the face to him.
he almost didn't come to my wedding, to walk me down the aisle, since i would not attend family functions around holidays and birthdays (he did walk me down the aisle; after i made some appearances but made it clear i was not celebrating).. now that i am out, i am so glad i have been able to repair my relationships with my parents and siblings.

I was the only witness in my family. Although they weren't happy that I rejected the catholic faith, they respected my decisions. What used to annoy me, the society always saying that the brothers are your family. That was something I could never except. My high and mighty attitude could've destroyed my relationship with my mothers and brothers, but it became apparent blood is thicker than water. When I struggled with my health it was my fleshly brothers who came to my assistance not those in the hall.

Worst Thing Youve Done In A Meeting?
by chuckie77 inwhats the worst thing youve done during a meeting?
years ago, when i was a bit more wicked/naughty/younger than i am now, i thought i would take some drugs just prior to the meeting to see if it would make things any more interesting.
it didnt, but at least i enjoyed the kingdom melodies tapping my foot to the beat and bopping my head!!

Did anything stick?
by agapa37 ini know that many who left the organization left for there own reasons, which are interestingly similar.
is there anything (teaching) that stuck with them.
i am mainly refering to the princibles that are taught.

Agapa. I was a warmongering man before becoming a witness, and I used to say the truth changed me. In reality, it was me who wanted to change before becoming a jw, and yes Bible principles helped. However, I became self-righteous, arrogant and moody due to watchtower doctrines.
