shame on you for belonging to an organization of men who teach you that your children and your family should be less important to you than obeying their words, just because they claim to speak for god.
shame on you for not remembering that loving and caring for your family should be your first priority.
That's why their rights as parents ought to be taken away from them. They ought to be legally judged 'mentally incompetent' until at least such time as they complete some mandated parenting classes and/or therapy.
This would save those children immediately involved and serve as an example to others - including the WTS - that they'd better take a good look into changing their ways.
Because we are watching them.

Sorry if I offended you Stinkypantz. Perhaps I should have chosen the term 'irrational' over the flippant/candid term, 'stupid'. I wasn't trying to insult anyone. I was just giving my opinion.
I think the question is impossible to answer by anyone but the victim. And in most cases, no one can talk to the victims of abortion. (I say most, because there are some survivors, you know).
apparently, 'causing divisions' is a disfellowshipping offense for jehovah's witnesses.. now, i have a question for you: .
when someone in the congregation is 'causing divisions' by pointing out the injurious criminal behavior of someone else in the congregation, who is responsible for 'causing divisions'?.
who is 'causing divisions'?.
Bleep - Can you discern a difference between 'keeping the congregation clean' and 'keeping the image of the congregation clean'? Can you discern any difference in choosing one over the other? Can you think of any times when they might be mutually exclusive?
Can you agree that a sinner can repent and reform just as well from inside a prison cell? Possibly more so, as they will daily face the fact of their sin/crime and its consequences?
Can you agree that there is really no good reason to protect them from the consequences of their sin/crime? Can you see that you can pray for someone just as well while they're serving time?
Can you see that the only thing that might suffer from a JW being forced to pay consequences would be the JW image?

Shame on you for believing that YOUR personal salvation is THE NUMBER ONE thing. Above your family and above your own children. And for having the gaul to think that God thinks so, too.
Shame on you for subjecting your children over and over to terrorizing stories of demons and evil worldly people, just to scare them into doing what you want.
Shame on you for putting your 'image' on the front burner at all times. Do you really think that God is fooled?

i did this by email to my local mp terry lewis, mp for worsley, greater manchester, uk.. here is his response letter which i received today:.

this is gonna take a while so bear with me .... i dunno where to start.
well i'm still a jw, still going to meetings etc although you do feel pretty bad sitting there knowing you'd like to be any place else.
like i've read from so many of you i've been the perfect jw kid excellent meeting attendence, good field service blah blah all that crap.
You're very young. I would suggest that you not burn your bridges behind you right now. You can probably manage to 'stall' them by telling them you just want to be more sure before you do anything (like get baptized). Don't get baptized to appease them! It will make your life a lot worse in the long run.
Then, use this time to really try to build up some supportive friendships around you.
I don't know how this would work, but I'd also suggest that - if you have the time and money - you do some really nice things for them right now. Take them out to eat or go to the zoo or something. Give them something to miss and think twice about when the time comes for them to consider abandoning you.
You shouldn't be the only one to suffer in the future. Not that they would ever admit it, of course. And you could make some nice memories for yourself.
But get prepared for that possibility now.
And no matter what you do, we're here for you.
my husband and i took my 5 year old cousin to see lilo and stitch the other day.
(her mother has been a regular pioneer for 18 years) mind you this child cannot read or even count to 100. she out of the blue says to me "do you know if you do not go to meetings you will die at armagedon?
" she goes on to say that if she salutes the flag or eats birtday cake she will die and she knows her friend at school will die because she slautes the flag.
For these reasons, I believe JW parents ought to come up against having their children removed from them on the grounds that they are mentally incompetent. Psychological abuse ought to be legally recognized for what it is. The parents ought to be mandated to attend some classtime before they can get their kids back.
In the meantime....
What do you think that we can all say to these kids that will eventually help them over the hurdles they're going to confront one day?
I'm facing such a problem right now.
"I think that's kind of a silly idea. The Bible tells me that God loves people." Not to try to put the burden on them NOW, at these tender ages. But to say something that you hope will 'stick' in a good way when they're trying to work it all out one day.
What would have helped you? Any idea?
What had an impact on me (EVENTUALLY.....) was seeing the JOY and devotion and love with which relatives honored Christmas and other holidays. I only wish they'd made a point of telling me that if I ever wanted to be included, I would be welcome there.
have any of you out there heard the term "buzzard bait" used by an elder?
well, i had the dubious pleasure of working door to door with an elder , mike martina, while living in baton rouge, louisiana.
he had a really bad habit of referring to ones that he deemed unworthy of making it through the end as buzzard bait.
It is an unspeakable joy to give one's children the childhood you never had and I pray that blessing falls on each one of you. There are good things in the world. May they touch your lives.
