Grandson And His Future Problems.
by Guest 77 ini started this post earlier and then my computer went whacky again.
to those who read about my grandson's fall and refusing blood, he no longer is in the intensive care unit, however another 'problem' had been ensuing amidst this crisis, and that has to do with his jw girlfriend and mother.
in a nutshell, they have tried to 'usurp' my family's role of responsibility especially at the hospital.

"If you touch me I will blow up. I am a bomb."
That was the note attached to the teddy bear that the police blew up in Denmark.
I can't help but to think that that might be a good policy for JW children to adopt.
;-)
Edited to correct and complete the missing quote.

Public Talk Déjà vu
by NewYork44M inseveral weeks ago i sat through the public talk and could not believe the lack of substance of the talk.
it was filled with worn out bromides and illustrations that we have all heard hundreds of times.
i was embarrassed for the speaker and flabbergasted that the audience could actual sit through such nonsense.. thenabout half way through the talk, i realized that i recognized the talk.

Okay...

And for something COMPLETELY different, go to watercure2.com
One doctor thinks high cholesterol is a good thing insofar as it is a self-defense mechanism to protect your bloodstream against a very threatening form of deep dehydration.
Check it out. Many people swear by it.

Come on, come on...
PLEEEEEEEEEEASE contribute!
This information would be so helpful to ex's trying to clear their minds of the things that were drummed into them for decades, often since childhood.
And it would be HUGELY helpful when trying to help others to leave the WTS as well.
Please add to my list and see if you can name other talks that were given - even if it was by you.
You have so much to contribute. Please don't hold back.

Wow. Can anyone LIST the 120 talks in the cycle?
Surely, someone can. I'll start....
1) 'Should You Believe the Trinity?'
2) "Parents; Are You Building with Fire-Proof Materials?"
....and then...?

What IS Gods name anyway?
by NikL ini am sure this topic has been brought up many times here but i don't always have the oppertunity to read all the posts so i am going to raise it again.. i went to the meeting the other day with my wife and this came up in the talk.
the speaker saying how improtant it was to have the right bible to get the most out of bible reading.
the right bible being the nwt of course because it uses the divine name which we all know is jehovah...or yahweh.

I believe the name, Jehovah was the invention of a Catholic monk some centuries ago. He crossed the word for Lord and another (the tetra...?) and came up with this name.
Funny how JWs know nothing about its origin.
The Jews believe that the name of God should never be pronounced or attempted to be pronounced and I would agree. (Interesting that there is no 'J' in the Hebrew alphabet).
The awareness and experience of God by man is eternal, throughout the world, on every continent and in every generation, throughout time.
And, no matter how we name it, call it, pronounce it, we are all talking about the same thing.
And that's why He's God.

So I guess the CORE of what the WTS provides is, 'somethin' to do'.
Also, some self-important 'rules to follow' and 'rules to impose'.
So perhaps the foundation of this religion is a belief that 'Idle hands are the Devil's workshop'?
Oh no. That's 'idle minds', isn't it?
Never mind.
