I've been a jw for 30 years. We've only been married 7. So we haven't been together that long. Thats why I feel we are going to end up divorcing.

by DIAMOND inis it even remotly possible that a marriage can work if the wife is a jw and the husband who has been one for over 30 years is on his way out.
is there any advice on how this can work or is it just doomed for divorce!!!!
i love my wife and kids but she's not handeling this very well at all.

Freedom, You are right. Things seem to go relativley well unitl something about the truth is brought up then all hell breaks loose.
The sad part is is no a great marriage to begin with and this is just another added distraction.

Well its obvious you missed the 70's. Because they made everything the same. I can remmeber our MS Overseer. With big bell bottoms stack heel shoes and a wide tie. WE all dressed in colors you would not believe and no one said a thing. And this was in the south. You could give a talk with a wide orange tie on big bell bottoms covering your shoes and a mini afro with sideburns and it was accepted.
Damn I miss the 70's...Oh hell I think I'm telling my age.

I was also in Fayetteville in 77-87. I was in the West so depending on your age I'm sure I know you or if you stayed in trouble probably hung out with you. Did you know the Robinson's,Swanns,Livingstons,Rucker, Pain,Solomons,Canadys,Shorts,Bates,Suites,

Did YOU CHEAT on Your Time?
by minimus inone of the things the congregation secretary has to do is tabulate field service reports.
i always loved it when i would get a report that had an enormous amount of hours and placements.,especially if the person never was seen in the ministry.
i knew a lot of "phantom pioneers".

Which did you prefer? Watchtower or Awake?
by LDH inwhen i was a jw, i really couldn't stomach the watchtowers.
the only articles i would read would be for the family study/watchtower study.
it seemed so archaic and old-people-ish.. i did read the awake from cover to cover almost every time.

WERE YOU A "GOOD" PUBLISHER?
by minimus inone of the first "privileges" any prospective witness has is that of being a publisher.of course, once you're a publisher,you are one for life.
so, either you are a "good" publisher or a "bad" one.
a good publisher has to get the national average,be a "good" example, and pretty much do whatever the elders ask of you.

I was and still am a sorry publisher. I haven't been out in months. But when I give those talks #2 and 4"s they don't know what to do with me. After my last talk an Elder pulled me to the side and said...You always give good talks but you know what you need to work on. Work on for what?????? I'm not trying to be nobodys MS or Elder. I just want to do my thing and go home. If I had big enough Balls I take myself off the school;

why do the jw ?
by heathen inwhy do the jw lock their publications in cabinets ?i noticed on my visits to the local cong.
that they are so anal about their publications in the congregations that they have locks on their cabinets where they keep the magazines and bibles .
i can't help but wonder if they are worried about the publishers helping themselves .well ,i'm open to any explainations.

In my congo the books and mags are locked up and the overstock is kept in another room thats also kept locked. I guess they don't want anyone to know the truth until we want them to.
