speaking to a New Testament class, suggestions wanted

i work in the information department of a small private college.

the professor of religious studies has asked me to come to his survey of the new testament class and talk about jehovah's witnesses -- what they believe, what it was like growing up in the movement, ect., whatever.. so what do you think i should share?

what approach should i take?

What a good opportunity to show the WTS as a cult, and how dangerous a cult can be to the individule and family unit.

You can start by asking WHAT IS A CULT

Cult leaders claim they are the (Only Voice of God)

Members are prohibited to question the established teachings

Conformity and mental domination

Isolation: Members are not allowed to socialize with anyone that is not of their own faith, including participation in school programs, such as the arts and sports.

Child molestation and other criminal activities are handled IN HOUSE and are not reported to local civil authorities.

This is a happy day, to hear one more has left the Cult. There are still river of tears left from those that still have their loved ones in the bondage of false religion.

The role was reversed in my situation, I lost my daughter to this cult for 10 years. After I recovered from my nervous breakdown, I did something about it. I was sucessful, but only because my circumtances was suitable. You can read about my rescue journey from my book.

Flaws in jw religion

hi there been reading this forum for a few weeks and this is my first post.

i recently came into contact with a person who is a jw and although we respect each others religion she has recently started preching that the end is near and how much we should hate this current system.

we talk about the jw religion and she accepts my views when i question what she believes.

I am glad you mentioned that others have deomonstrated in front of the Kingdom Halls before, do you remember who they are? If you do, please PM me.

Yes, that is the title of my book. I was a in the org. for 40 years, raised as a JW. In 1983, I resigned along with my family except for my oldest daughter Gloria. We lost her to this cult for 10 years. When all other efforts failed to communicate with her I decided to rejoin or go undercover so I could eventually show her their cult-like errors. It was a 2 year journey as I had a lot of mountains to climb, like prove to her that her elder husband was a child molester, which I did, to her but not to the elders. After I was re-instated, I lived with her during this time of deprogramming her, so I was able to achieve my mission. In my book, I show family pictures to help visualize my story, plus giving incite to how the organization operates that make them unique from most of the other religions and thus showing the reason I had to go undercover.

I remember when I was a JW child in the 40's, going with my parents to demonstrate with placards in front of the churchs, signs that said " RELIGION IS A SNARE AND A RACKET"

I am going to turn the tables on the WTS, and start my own demostration in front of their Kingdom Halls...my sign will say "JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES ARE A SNARE AND A RACKET" exposing them of the same thing plus how they are also quilty of separating families. My signs will expose them for many other things too.

I am going to notify the news media first and let them know of my intentions so I can get the news coverage. I will also have my published book to explain the whole story on the JW's. This is why I wrote my book to expose this cult. "Going Undercover To Rescue My Daughter, From The Cult Of Jehovah's Witnesses"

Governing Body Procedure Book

i was just looking at a copy of a letter ray franz received from ny after he left, and it thanked him for returning the "branch organization" book and also the "governing body procedure" book.

i know the "branch" book is available online, but has anyone ever seen the contents of the gb book?

i can't remember if ray f. ever commented on it.
