  How many of you elders shared confidential things with your wife?

  i wonder how many of you truly kept things confidential.

  when i was growing up in 70's in a very rural community my father was the congregation overseer.

  thursday nights we always had to stay late after the service meeting while my father dealt with matters in the back room.

  Then there were elders who "shared" info with elders from other congregations who would have one chatty elder who would tell his wife.

  That's just it, there are plenty of elders who can keep there mouth shut.

  It only takes a few with big mouths to keep the rumer mill going.

  I married into a big gossipy family with multiple elders in multiple halls.

  They freely shared JC details with each other.

  Even as a true believer i thought there behavior was outrageous. It would really annoy me when the bros would give talks about not gossiping and they would usually direct it at the women. In my area the bros were the worst gossips of all.

  Witness suicide in Anderson, Indiana???

  check out this sad, sad obituary and picture in my local newspaper.

  the body was found after 5 days in the river by a fisherman.

  police are 'investigating' but no headlines about homicide.

  I never could understand why people would gripe about gossipy elders wives.

  The wives wouldn't know shit if the hubby kept his mouth shut.

  It's been my experience that you could always find the juicy details about any JC.

  You didn't even have to pry, theres always plenty of elders who volunteer the info unprompted.

  Maybe a JC could be sued for sexual assault?

  think about it, what if your young daughter was assaulted sexually by someone in the congregation.. you go to the elders and their is a jc.. the elders of course want to talk to the girl alone without the parents present and then proceed to ask the girl sexually explicit questions.. i've been in that situation and let me tell you, the jc is a rape in itself.

  you can check out numerous threads on this board and also on silentlambs and you will see that i am not the only one that felt that way.. .

  maybe a jury would think so too?.

  Sexual harrassment maybe a better term. but you can sue for that also.

  the daily telegraph reported that strands of hair from a human who lived 200,000 years ago have been found preserved inside fossilised hyena dung from south africa.

  this is noteworthy because up until now the oldest samples of human hair were from a 9,000 year old mummy found in northern chile.

  how have these hairs been dated?

  i have a question.

  why dose it take two witnesses if a child says someone molested them.. but with oral sex it only takes the one spouse to get the other mate in trouble.

  I would also like to add that the elders tend to treat cases of child sexual abuse as though it were a case of fornication or adultery.

  A friend of mines 8 year old daughter was abused by a 15 year old elders son. The first thing the elders wanted to find out was if the girl had seduced the 15 year old.

  I also remember an elder in my old hall telling about a case he had to deal with in which a dad was having sex with his daughter and this girls two older brothers were having sex with her too. He stated that the reason it was happening was because the girl was behaving inapropriately and that the brothers had to counsel her on more modest behavior.

  I've known underaged girls that were raped and the first thing the elders want to know is what kind of panties they were wearing. They consider wearing a thong as an invitation to sex.

  In the one case they want the problem to go away. In the other they want to control behavior.

  You said a lot with a few words.

  I would also say that the GB have no natural affection or consideration for children.

  i had a couple of pretty good ones, i thought.. my first one was theocratic news.

  i know a lot of congregations that did this one.

  we had a long table facing the audience, and we gave the "theocratic news" from the km as if it were a tv news broadcast.

  By this time everyone was either on edge or cracking up. Then the coup de grace. He reached behind and underneath his jacket and pulled, out of his pants mind you, a sledgehammer. Half the congregation was stunned. The other half started uncontrollably laughing. One brother went into laughing fits and was asked to go outside when he couldn’t stop.

  OMG ! yeah, uncontrolable laughter here too!
