  BoE "Porn" Letter... what if it isn't "convenient"?

  i was just reading the boe letter dated june 7, 2006 regarding pornography.

  here's an excerpt that made me go "hmmmmm".. next, the body of elders should determine whether the brother still qualifies to serve.

  he may continue to serve if his involvement consisted of (1) a few brief viewings, (2) he displays a heartfelt desire to desist from looking at pornography in any form, (3) the elders are convinced that he will refrain from viewing pornography, (4) he continues to retain the respect of others who are aware of what he did, and (5) his conscience allows him to do so.

  BTW is was common knowledge in my old hall that the PO kept playboy mags under his bed.

  Because his grandsons found them and spread the news.

  The PO's defence was "Jehovah's creations are beautiful"

  (1) he has developed a pattern of seeking pornography, or (2) on several occasions has viewed abhorrent forms of pornography that are sexually degrading, which might include child pornography, sadistic torture, bondage, gang rape, or the brutalizing of women, this would disqualify him from serving.

  Evidently this means that only degrading forms of porn would discalify him.

  Non-degrading porn is not so bad, and can be overlooked.

  new kitten in the house...how to get the resident cat to accept?

  as some here may know, i got a cat at the local shelter a couple of years ago.

  max (short for maxine)...is a very good natured, loving cat...as much as a cat can be.

  lately she has really been trying for my attention.... why?.

  keep the kitties in seperate rooms for a while, one with a door between them so that they can become aware of the other one on the other side.

  Eventually they will start playing with each other under the door, let them do this for a while and then one day, open the door and leave them alone to discover each other.

  This may take a day or two or a couple of weeks.

  It's worked well for me.

  Incidentally you do not have to keep them in the rooms, you can allow one kitty out for awhile and then the other kitty, just always keep a door between them, until they start getting along.

  Have They Found Noah's Ark ? - Again.....

  "there is a story circulating around the net, started by a group called noahs ark ministries, which claims they have found noahs ark on mount ararat in turkey.. a group of chinese and turkish evangelical explorers say they have brought back wood specimens from atop mount ararat in turkey that they believe to be from noahs ark.

  claiming they found a wood structure with compartments and samples that date carbon date to 4,800 years ago, they say it is 99% certain it is the ark of biblical fame.

  The next day, the government convened an official board of inquiry. After considering the facts, the board obliged the church to announce that the cause of the problem had been, not the Witnesses, but the president of the church.

  The government perforemed an inquiry to see who's fault it was?

  Were talking about someone who rented/scheduled a room for an event that went overtime,

  and the govenrments involved?

  The inquiry wasn't about anyone being injured, or anything getting stolen it was JUST TO SEE WHO WAS AT FAULT FOR NOT CLEARING OUT A RENTED ROOM IN TIME?
