They dont sugar coat it all the time.
There was an watchtower study article that stated that only JWs have hope for survivng the big A.
Im sure someone on here knows which one it was.
i was reading the latest public watchtower and.
it was talking about armageddon.
the article.

I had not thought about Love canal in a long time too.
Im sure the families who indured and are induring that tragedy have not forgotten
before you women jump all over me, this is just a observation.. first of all at least in this country women out number men in religion,.
across the board,(jw,s,baptist, catholic etc.
) you walk in any church.
Here in America, women are "suppose" to be spiritual.
It is considered an admiral trait, just like "having faith" does.
I have heard contless women claim to "be spiritual"
I have never heard any woman other then myself say "I am not a spiritual person"..... never.
Whenever I have made that statement, I have received two resposes, The shocked blank speechless stare, or "of course you are, you (insert random act) dont you?" They dont seem to comprehend, accept, or even respect, the idea of a woman being anything less then "spiritual"
People expect you to be spiritual, just because your female. I believe there are plenty of non-spiritual women out there, they just keep it hidden so people dont think less of them.
the couple that i studied with were major hypocrites when it came to their entertainment choices.
i remember the first time i was invited to their house for dinner, this was the first time that we just hung out socially, and they were playing music.
a song came on sung by a girl group that liked to pretend they were bisexuals (or lesbians, whatever) and i thought 'hey, maybe these witnesses are pretty relaxed and cool after all'.. boy was i wrong.
I'll never forget the time I overheard a group of elders discussing movies. One recommended a certain movie an another said "isn't that rated R?"
The first elder said "yes, but R rated movies dont effect me, I can handle it"
A couple of the other elders nodded in agreement.
That was the moment i stopped fretting over wether a movie was appropriate to watch or not. I realized right then, I could "handle it" and it would not "effect me"
case closed
the witnesses always blame everything on adam and eve (besides satan).
for some reason, when i used to look at the my book and bible stories when i was little, i used to feel bad for adam and eve?
its kinda like getting mad at a baby for making a mistake.
How is it that supposedly perfect individuals possessed the character defects needed to be misled as easily as they were.
This says volumes, I've had good success using this argumant with some JW's. But you statement is simpler and more concise then the way i explain it, gracias.
it pains me to read this and even post it, but, just as in the case with priests, the light is where these things should be:.

Even if it is reported, it still does not mean the caregiver cannot continue his/her career.
I read a recent report of a caregiver that was fired for abuse and the incident was reported. However, the caregiver just got another job at another facility while she is awaiting trial.
Unfortunately, caregiving can be a very high stress job. And usually it requires very little, if any training. And they are easy jobs to get becausse there is such a high demand. I am sure some employers "overlook" certain things because of difficulty replacing the employee.
at aude's suggestion i'm starting this thread from [one of] the point[s] i digressed on the brodan meltdown thread.. [cyber]jesus: sbc, you speak like a man!
you are my here now.... i'd like the christians to note that a man who goes by the name of jesus just called me his hero.
(actually, he said "here" but i'm taking the liberty, regardless.
If a designer possessing the full gamut of human emotion was responsible for our existence (in this state we call reality) that means we could be, at best, an experiment with an unknown purpose or, at worst, entertainment.
i was raised a jehovahs witness from birth, but even as a little child i had my doubts.
that's why i was never baptized.
i believed in jehovah but i just thought it was somehow a load of bullshit.
Remember, they had morning, afternoon AND evening sessions, each running 3-4 hours long.
Insane
it all comes down to evidence (but funny how we tend not to accept the evidence that indicates that what be actually believe to be true might be wrong).. this is a statement made by nick in previous thread of his.. >>>>>>>>>>.
if the ot 'god' reappeared today, would that be evidence of 'god'?.
jay, .
It would require the same evidence it took for me to believe that my husband exists, or my children exist.
Nothing more.
i'm a never baptized, raised in ex-jw who is, shall we say, outspoken against the jws.
when i first left, i told my relatives that i thought the jws were full of crap.
i tried to show them everything.
I agree with JGnat, keep asking why!
Why does this stranger want to meet me?
Why are you trying to set up a play date for me?
Ask them, "Is this about Amway? Because it sounds like Amway. Thats how they get you, they pretend to be your friend so they can hard sell you. Is it about another MLM program? No? Then start making some sense here, tell me what the real motivation is here! You seem to have some kind of ulterior motive, and I would like to know what it is."
