Not all JW's are anti-pet, but many are.
Some will not have pets because they are unclean and they take time from Jehovah.
Some will allow family pets, but are careful not to fuss over them to much or treat them to well.
Some are even cruel to animals, because the GB has always been anti-pet, especially dogs. And the GB has never cautioned againts physically harming animals. Just like it has never cautioned against physically harming children.
And some just have pets like normal people do.

we had the most fantastic rainbow here yesterday, probably the most solid colored one i have ever seen.
it reminded me that jehovah would never again flood the earth... not!.
i remarked to my daughter that the rainbow reminded me that the genesis account was a myth like the aboriginal dream times...rainbows are science, sunlight, rain mist/drops and refracted light.. i said, after it had rained and the sun came out, no matter whether 'god' was involved or not, there was going to be a rainbow.
like those birth pains that were "increased" in Eve...never mind she never gave birth before!

when i was a bible fundamentalist jehovah's witness it was easy for me to dismiss homosexuality as a sin and move onto the next, more interesting, topic.
it is much more complicated than that for me at this point in my life.. i think about it this way:.
what if i, a heterosexual, were raised in a community where everybody was homosexual and heterosexuality had a harsh taboo attached to it.
I had a therapist explain to me one time that there are no 100% gay or 100% straight people.
We all fall somewhere in between that scale of 1-99.
I think that is true, nothing is completely black or white. Otherwise, there would be no such thing as a hermaphrodite.
Hermaphrodites are no less human or inferior then anyone else, why would gays be any different?
And why would gays be unacceptible, but hermaphrodites are an accepted fact of nature/god?

how long is a generation?in general we think of a generation being about 25 years - from the birth of a parent to the birth of a child.
The WTS claims my 88 year old grandmother and my 7 year old child is from the same generation.
