  the police !

  this was not an elder , but he said the rules changed sometime ago !

  thats odd because i rang bethel london a few days ago and the nice guy that i spoke to regarding our situation , said that in england and some of the states in america it is not the law to report to the police !

  The society made a statement on their website concerning the recent NBC jw child abuse episode.

  IN it they stated they report in the states that require them to do so. So this is proof, straight from the horses mouth.

  My sis is one of those JW's that insisted that the society now always report. When I showed her the societys statement, she pretended it was nothing and said, "im glad you found the answer to your question"

  I had to email her back and point out that it wasn't "a question I had", it was a statement I was making and that she denied. Now i had proof to back up my statement.

  Previously she had vehemently insisted that the society always report, after I showed her proof, in suddenly became a non-issue to her.

  Divorced? Question..........

  divorce is much more common in the jehovah's witness community than they would like to admit.

  probably more so than the population in general.

  if you have been divorced do you think that the watchtower society contributed to the divorce, or caused it, or is it just possible you married some jerk or abuser and divorce would have occured no matter what religion you were, or even if you had no religion?

  Why make prophecies cryptic?

  ok, this thread is not about whether or not the bible prophecies are valid.

  i just want to know why god would inspire a prophecy about a giant tree, bowls of anger, seven headed animals, the moon turning to blood, the sun going dark, the sea turning to blood, everything else turning to blood multiple times.. counting things in days when he actually means years, using 'times' which don't meen anything.

  symbolizing rulers with trees, horns and mountains.

  Because they are only for people who really love god. And are willing to spend the energy "seeking him out".

  Yeah, thats how I parent my kids. I stay out of their sight and sent them a book of instructions through a mediator. I never speak to them, but they better worship and adore me or I'm gona squash them like bugs.

  I'm the best parent ever, just ask me, that proves it.

  Looking back on old photos I saw Me on my last Xmas as a child

  i was looking at all my old photos and found this one of me on my last christmas before my parents found the "truth".

  i had just turned 3. look at the joy on my face.. i feel so sad for me and now i feel so bad for all those little children born into that religion.

  not just because of christmas but because there is no magical days and only days of waiting for armageddon which never comes.. anyone else feel that the children are being robbed of joy and happiness.

  Velvetann, that first photo is priceless.

  Growing up, I never really felt that I missed out on anything regarding holidays, birthdays etc.

  But now i have a three year old, and it is so much fun on her birthday and christmas, I just love seeing her get soooo excited.

  this poor kid, watch his face when he thinks he got the xbox and then watch is face when he realizes it's a joke.

  kids don't understand 'you know we can't afford ....", he truly thought he was getting his wish.

  i'd like to smack some sense into these parents - what they did was just wrong!

  At five I understood the great battle of armageddon would be a literal one between the dubs and the non dubs. And so therefore I believed that Jah would require me to kill all my kindergarten classmates and my teacher.

  The burden af having to kill thirtysome people is a terrible one for a five year old to bear.

  Then at fifteen when I went to them for help, because ny stepfather was sexually assaulting me. They said there was nothing they could do as it was just his word against mine, and not to ever speak about it to anyone else. And then they never once checked up on me after that.

  The older I get the more amazed I am that three adult men with children and grandchildren of there own could treat a child in such a cold and thoughtless manner.

  You never saw a mr. rodgers doll or toy. He did not commercialize what he was doing. he just talked to kids.

  Am I right in assuming this girl is twentysomething?

  Trust me, in ten years or so she is going to think back and realize what a great guy you were, and what a jerk she was.

  Some people just mature slooow. I would hate to be judged by some of my behavior when I was in my twenties.

  Now the talking thru the movie thing, that's just not tolerable, and idiots like that never seem to grow up!
