  want proof that the GB votes on doctrine

  i would like to find proof of this without refering to ray franz's c.o.c.

  material.. is there anywhere a charter, a letter, a document that states stuff like a majority vote needed etc?.

  As an above poster stated, if your trying to get a JW to think, you might want to ask THEM how the GB make dicisions. Ask them to tell you how it's done.

  This is a question that all JW's should be able to answer, but none can, and most have not even thought to ask it yet.

  So get him to start asking, or at least wondering.

  Ask him, do they get there info in dreams? OR visions? or do they all hold hands and say a prayer and writing appears on the wall? Do all the GB come to the same conclusions all at the same time? Is there voting invoved? IF so how much of a vote does it take to win?

  Since your JW will not be able to answer these questions, it can be something you can refer back to every now and then, over time as though you are still just "wondering"

  I have done this with my family and it just makes them nuts because unlike most things, they have NO REPLY to such a question, none at all. They know it is a very legitimate question that any member should have an answer to.

  And whats more they are embarressed that they cannot answer it, AND embarressed that they never even thought to ask it, until you started nagging them about it.

  there is so much fuss and bother about identity theft.

  personally, no banking or credit card stuff goes into the trash.

  Shredders are fun!

  I stopped using mine because I've had a toddler around the last few years and I worry about her tiny fingers.

  But shes old enough now, time to bring the shredder back out.

  The shredded paper goes in my worm bins to make deep dark awesome worm castings.

  The best compost available!

  i believe the way the organization keeps many people in its clutches is by means of guilt.

  no one can adhere to all of the theocratic rules of the organization and they know that.

  i believe jws do things to ease their consciences.

  I was depressed to the point of suicide, guess what the elders recommended?

  Any Comment On The Amanda Knox Verdict?

  i think the verdict was not based on anti-americasim as the boyfriend was italian and was also convicted.. i think the irresponsible journalisam and charactor assasination on a persons character to sell newspapers and gain t.v ratings reflect badly on english journalisam.

  i think this must have effected the thinking of a jury allowed to be exposed to such media frency.. sadly english jounalisam has been responsible for helping convict innocent people in the past.

  the wimbeldon common murder and false conviction of colin stagg was a classic example.. i also remember how in america (many years ago)a au-pair from england was convicted of shaking a baby to death.

  not all stiff sentences reflect anti-Americanism but a high regard for the unnecessary loss of life

  The issue here is not the length of the sentence,

  the issue is, is she guilty or not, big difference.

  If she is guilty, that sentence is way to light in my opinion.

  Another point they made was that there were "drugs involved"

  but the only drugs that were mentioned was marijuana.

  And marijuana just doesn't effect people in that manner.

  Only a person who knew nothing about MJ would suggest that it would cause someone to go on a violent rampage.

  OK, I really haven't read that much about it, so I really should keep my mouth shut, buttt........

  In that country, American girls are considered slutty.

  And like JW's when you think another person or culture has lower morals then you do, you start immagining all sorts of ridiculos behavior that just doesn't happen in real life.

  For instance JW's often believe that worldly people just all have sex with one another willy-nilly, no holes barred (sorry for the pun).

  I think that's what happened to Knox and her boyfriend.

  Because what they are accused of just doesn't seem "right"

  For all dog owners....One happy dog!

  i have resisted buying a dog bed, just because they are too expensive.

  i can slap together some old blankets, sheets etc., and pile them up, and the old boy will happily lay down on them.. today at sams wholesale, i found a bed for $29.00 with a zipper so i can wash the cover.

  it was a monster to get into the car, stuff in the back seat, and it obstructed all vision.

  When I got it in the door, the dog thought it was a new toy, he attacked, dragged it several feet, and then looked at me as if to ask, "What did you want me to do mom?"

  I love how dogs do that. Whenever i bring a new bed home for my dog there is always that look he gives me.

  "your giving this to me and I can get on it right?" (he's not allowed on any furniture)

  I'll tell him "OK" and he will climb on in utter delight.

  I certainly do. For those that believe, no further evidence is necessary, for those that do not, no further evidence is sufficient

  I would welcome any evidence that prayer is effective beyond the placebo effect.
